About our home

Our home is situated on a slope with lovely view. We love to have all our doors wide open, especially the doors from the lounge, opening to a sun deck and the sliding doors from our bedroom. We have a small swimming pool to cool off in summer. Our summers are quite hot and wet, but the winters are mild and sunny. The evenings will be cold so we have a cosy wood fire in our fire place.

More about us

  1. My husband Bob and I (both 69)have done 12 exchanges and have thoroughly enjoyed each one of them. We are originally from Holland but came to South Africa in 1980 for mission work and have grown to love South Africa. So when we retired about 10 years ago we decided to stay here and enjoy the space, the climate and life here in general. We do have children in England and Holland and like to do exchanges to those countries to be able to spend time with them and also explore on our own. We are readers so you will find lots of books to enjoy here!

Where is it?

Pietermaritzburg is the capital of KwaZulu-Natal, the province with beaches, Drakensberg mountains, Game Parks and famous Battle Fields. The Midlands Meander with attractive craft shops and coffee shops/restaurants in lovely country setting is within 30 min drive. Mandela capture monument site also very close by. We live in a quiet Northern suburb and it takes only 5 min to be on the highway to explore different areas of KZN.
