John and Cheryl are in our 50's and love to travel....anywhere, anytime and are very excited at the concept of home exchange. We have recently completed 3 exchanges and loved them all. We live mostly in Australia, when we are not travelling to new places and enjoying the cultural immersion which ghome exchange offers. We travel to South Africa regularly, to visit family and friends. John is an international IT consultant, as well as running a web based business together with Cheryl. Our children are grown up and scattered around the world, and love hearing about our travel plans!
According to many South Africans, Plettenberg Bay is the jewel of the Garden Route. Originally christened "Bahia Formosa" (beautiful bay) by early Portuguese explorers, it has developed over time into a beautiful, modern town that combines buzzing activity with a peaceful environment, lazy beach days and action activities like diving, hiking and bungee jumping (if you absolutely must!). Plettenberg Bay (known locally as 'Plett') is characterised by sweeping, unspoilt golden beaches, a dramatic rocky peninsula called Robberg Peninsula which is famous for its Cape Fur Seal population lagoons and estuaries, towering indigenous forests and unpolluted rivers and sea. With its exceptional climate, and beautiful view sites over the Indian Ocean, Plettenberg Bay is perfect for exploring, watching or just lazing. Knysna, equally charming, is a twenty minute drive away, and competes with Plett with its array of fine restaurants and eclectic shopping. Game viewing and game viewing horse rides are within easy reach - from 30 mins to an overnight trip if you want to venture further afield.
