About our home

Exquisitely restored and maintained family farmhouse on 1 000 sqm in brilliantly central location in Cape Town.

Located in Plumstead with easy access to schools and shopping conveniences, and centrally located ideal for day trips to all CPT attractions. This gorgeous 110-year-old beautifully restored and renovated farmhouse has been lovingly cared for by the owners who are looking for similar home swaps around the world.


The main house boasts gorgeous Oregon pine floors and high ceilings and has 3 Victorian fireplaces, 4 bedrooms (main en-suite), an enormous entertaining room and a beautiful family bathroom with Victorian bath and shower. The open plan dining room and kitchen enjoys its own fireplace with two sets of double doors which open on to the veranda and into a secluded courtyard which, in summer, is covered by a vine now over a 100 years old.

The windows and doors are fitted with slide-away / opening shutters or clear burglar bars providing superb security. An alarm system with external beams is fitted. The house is equipped with a high-speed fibre line and is on a “pay-as-you-go” electricity system. All internal lighting is dimmable.


The main house is wrapped on two sides by a balcony, complete with a private daybed, and a stunning mature garden which is beautiful in every corner.   1. We are a couple, married for 18 years, with two children aged 8 and 6.

  2. Both Daniel and Megan own their own companies and “work from home”. It is a dream to live (and work remotely) in Ireland, Scotland or England for a period of 6 - 8 months in either 2024 or 2025 or a period that crosses over those two years.

  3. Our home in Cape Town (which can sleep 6 very comfortably), is the perfect central location to all the incredible experiences Cape Town has to offer. A perfect base for day trips, weekend outings or long lazy afternoons around the outside fireplace in the leafy courtyard.
