About our home

Staying in the pristine beauty of our secluded , private beach resort is an experience of a life time. Our home is nestled in the magnificent natural dune forest overlooking a vast and unspoilt beach and lagoon. Situated in the heart of the Eastern Cape, the surrounding scenic landscape is breathtaking and magnificent. At the resort you can enjoy, canoeing on the exquisite river where bird life abounds (canoe supplied), swimming in the lagoon or sea, fishing from the rocks, in the sea and in the river, walking on the beach, bird watching, shell collecting, dune boarding or just relaxing on the deck gazing through the forest at a stunning expanse of white sands and blue waves.

Our rustic home is decorated for comfort and relaxation. It is fully equipped for self catering with fridges, deep freeze , microwave and TV etc. We have outdoor barbeque facitilies on our cosy back deck. All bed linen is supplied and there is a maid available to assist with your cleaning and washing. We have a resident caretaker who will assist you at all times and the resort is guarded with 24 hour security.

The house, which is owner built, consists of one timber unit with 2 en suite bedrooms with double beds and a second separate unit with 2 bedrooms, with single beds and shared bathroom. The sitting room, dining room and kitchen are all open plan and there is a front with lovely views and a back deck surrounded by dune forest.

We are situated 10 km from the famous Gary Player golf course at the Fish River Resort, and 40 KM form the charming seaside town of Port Alfred. Here you will find all the shopping facilities you require, as well as restuarants, sporting activities such as deep sea fishing, scuba diving, health and beauty spas, river boating activities etc.

There are numerous malaria free game farms in the surrounding area which are home to varieties of wildlife and offer unique game viewing opportunities in open vehicles, also on offer is horse riding on the beaches, whale watching, a health farm which offers day visits, craft shopping and visits to the many historical sites in the area. At the delightful historical village of Bathurst you can enjoy a pint at the famous Pig and Whistle Pub which is the oldest in South Africa. The beautifully situated Mpekweni Beach resort, which is only 3km away, offers a pub and dining facilities for you to enjoy.

Our resort is 150km north east of Port Elizabeth and 100km south of East London, both of which have airports.

We are a retired couple in our late sixties and with the children all gone we feel free to travel the world. We are hoping that house swopping will be the answer for us. John is an economist, involved in development in S.A. and Rose is a business woman.

We are English speaking South Africans, of British descent, Paddy was born and bred in Durban and John in Johannesburg. We love the idea of experiencing home from home in another country and we would look after your home as if it were our own.

We love life and we want to enjoy every minute of what this wonderful world has to offer!
