About our home
Our small hotel can accommodate a family or just a couple. It is a 5 star boutique hotel. We have a large swimming pool, spacious grounds, and are near to several world class golf courses. The American Ambassador and British High Commissioner have properties attached to us and we are across the street from the ambassadors of Spain and Italy. We are in the diplomatic enclave, said to be the safest area of Pretoria.
The house is within walking distance to boutique shops and restaurants. We have off street parking. We charge 150 points for a small room and 200 points for a large room. All rooms have a queen or king sized bed, and we have rollaway beds if necessary. Our staff is very attentive, and our manager can arrange all sorts of excursions. We are very near to the large, new casino. It has world class gambling and gourmet restaurants. There is world class shopping in the same complex.
The"Gautrain" is a brief uber ride from our hotel. The trains run frequently, and thus one has easy access to Johannesburg,. The big red bus stops near the station and takes one places of interest like the apartheid museum.
We have barrier free handicap access.

“Yet another wonderful stay. Pat was exceptionally helpful and everything was perfect!”
“This is our second visit to Pat’s Guest House. Experiencing this palatial home is worth it. Pat goes out of her way to accommodate including having her housekeeper, William, offer a daily breakfast. Our visitors also loved the place. Thank you Pat & Kobus.”
“We loved our stay. Pat's guest house is elegant and in a beautifully leafy and safe part of Pretoria, which has great restaurants. It has a swimming pool which the kids loved. It's a lovely comfy base for a great holiday. We used Uber all the time, which was cheap and convenient to visit Joburg (including the Apartheid Museum and the hip arty area of Maboneng). We used a driver recommended by Pat (Matthys and his dad Jan who looked after us really well) to drive us to Medikwe Game Reserve on the Botswana border, which was stunning. We stayed in a glorious eco lodge called Moseltha Bush - wooden huts with no electricity or running water - which was a lovely way to get back to nature to see all the amazing animals. Thanks so much to Pat, her son Charlie who looked after us really well and William who made us bacon and eggs and cooked us fresh bread every morning! ”
“We had a wonderful stay in Pat’s 5 star Home, a stately mansion in one of Pretoria’s exclusive & diplomatic suburbs. We were well looked after by Nicolein, who treated us to an English breakfast each morning & her special home-baked bread. A variety of great restaurants are a short drive away, and Brooklyn Shopping Centre is literally 5 mins by car. Thank you very much for your hospitality. A definite choice when visiting Pretoria. ”
“Thank you Pat for such a pleasant stay in Pretoria. It was our second delighted stay in your home in a very comfortable room. The staff, Gerhard and Cliff were so friendly and we were treated as royalties! We had the most warmly welcome with cold ice tea and freshly baked brownies. This is a home swap not to be missed. Jan and Minnie Mostert ”
“From the moment we arrived we were delighted with this points swap. The pictures don't do the house justice. Pat was at the door to welcome us. She upgraded us to an enormous room on the ground floor. Throughout our five day trip, the staff were very friendly and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The place was very clean, the linen soft and white and the towels changed regularly. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, peaceful. I would not hesitate to recommend it. There was only one downside, the wifi was slightly temperamental. ”
“Wow! The quality of this place is overwhelming! It is obviously a work of love and care which surpasses all our expectations! The photos on the website hardly do it justice. We had the careful attention of Kuni, who could give useful advice on where to go and what to see. We became regulars at the local Italian restaurant. I just loved their prawn tempura! Shopped in the biggest Mall in the southern hemisphere - but only treated ourselves to great Ethiopian coffees there! Although our real business was in Joburgh, it was well worth the drive to stay at this very special place. Ann and Frank”
“We had a pleasant stay in Pretoria and this place is very easy to live in and very comfortable. We had use of the kitchen which was terrific and we enjoyed several meals out on the terrace. It is a pleasant place to walk around, although Pretoria itself is not itself a fantastic tourist destination in South Africa. Having been run as a boutique hotel there are plenty of rooms, however the owners are going through a transition regarding the property and it is worth checking what its current status is if you are interested to stay here.”
“It was really interesting experience having Jay in our house, he was a great guest. He was very friendly and kind to us, especially to our kids and dog. ”
