About our home

Our home is ideally suited to the outdoor living for which Johannesburg's climate is renowned. The lounge opens onto a covered patio with facilities for a braai (barbeque). Inside, the lounge flows into a dining room with a table that can seat 8. The kitchen is modern and light, with all the conveniences to make your stay comfortable. The back door leads into the back garden. The kitchen also provides access into the self-contained flat that is attached to the house. The flat consists of a bedroom, en suite bathroom, a kitchenette and living area.
The main house has 2 bedrooms, one of which has been converted into a study. The main bedroom's beautiful en suite bathroom is a feature of our home.
A garage with room for 3 vehicles provides safe, off-street parking. The property is secured by a high wall, electric fence and armed response alarm system.
Should you choose to visit in the sunny South African winter, our home has underfloor heating and a gorgeous Victorian fireplace to keep the cold at bay.

Where is it?

Parkhurst is one of Johannesburg's trendiest suburbs. Its unique layout results in a village within the city. Our home is within walking distance from the excellent restaurants and boutique shops of Parkhurst's legendary 4th Avenue.
The suburb is about 20 minutes from the historic heart of Johannesburg to the south-east, and the shopping Mecca of Sandton to the north-east. Nearby tourist attractions include the Johannesburg Zoo, Gold Reef City, the Apartheid Museum, Liliesleaf Farm, Constitution Hill and Randlord mansions on the ridge that overlooks the city.
The closest Gautrain station is in Rosebank, a mere 10 minutes from our home. The Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens is an easy 30-minute drive to the west, and vibrant Soweto not much further to the south.
Should you want to venture further afield, The Cradle of Humankind is a comfortable day-trip from our home, as is Sun City.
