About our home

Our home is a double-storey house in a garden with a swimming pool. There are two double bedrooms en suite, and art room and a large study. We have four reception rooms downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen and a covered entertainment patio. House floor area is 500 sq. metres.
In-house domestic worker will look after the cleaning on weekdays.

More about us

We are a mature, retired couple. We are healthy and well traveled. We enjoy the history, culture, food, wine and experience of other countries. We wish to experience what it is like to be a temporary resident of another country. We would prefer a minimum stay of 1 month up to 3 months. We do not expect to match the accommodation offered by our home, as we do not wish to take on the burden of cleaning a large home. A small house/condo/apartment is perfectly acceptable to us.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

The house is in a walled, gated community with 24/7 security. The complex is in a leafy northern suburb of Johannesburg. It comprises 57 free-standing homes built in an Italian style. It is adjacent to a country club/golf course, and a short drive to local shops and restaurants.
Large shopping complexes including hotels, restaurants, theatres and casinos are close by. Within 50 Kilometers are a number of tourist attractions. Pretoria, our capital, game parks and the cradle of Humankind, where the evidence of earliest humans have been found. The apartheid museum and historical sites connected to Nelson Mandela. Many safari companies for the Kruger Park trips begin from Johannesburg.
