Ideally located for access to the magnificent False Bay beaches, Constantia, Cape Point and the southern peninsula, or the M3 freeway leading directly to the Waterfront, city centre or out towards the popular Winelands region, our home provides a central base from which to explore the beautiful Cape with your family.
Situated on 960m2, with a pool, organic-style treehouse and hammocks, a stone feature firepit and large undercover verandah for relaxation and barbeques on balmy evenings, outdoor living and entertaining are a must when enjoying this space.
As a low-tech family, we pride ourselves in offering guests an opportunity to relax and unwind in this comfortable space. The home offers some mod cons, but is also an ode to the simple life, where childhood is preserved and adults are able to connect on a meaningful level.
Through the main folding doors, the lounge features a wood-burning fireplace (wood is stored on the property, for your convenience) and comfortable seating for 5/6. Downstairs are two beautiful bedrooms – one with a 3/4 size bed and the other with 2 x 3/4 size bunk beds – and a full bathroom, recently renovated, as well as desk space, used at times for sewing and crafts, and at other times as a work station. Upstairs (the stairs are fairly steep, so please advise us if mobility is an issue so that the main bed can be rearranged downstairs) is a main en-suite loft room, also recently renovated, featuring a full bathroom with two basins, a king-size bed and adjustable shutters on all windows. Our view of the nearby mountains is unique in this area.
The farm-style, eat-in kitchen is a feature of our home and perfect for informal dining, seating 6 comfortably at the wooden table. For the health-conscious, a high-powered blender and an Oscar juicer are available for use, in addition to the standard basic kitchen appliances.
Beyond the kitchen you will find a study with antique desk and small library. Should there be a need for this space, you are most welcome to use it. The wifi modem is located in this room.
In addition to these interior spaces, the property includes two outside sheds, which have been attractively renovated as work and craft spaces (these may be utilised for our personal storage during a home swap), a tool shed, a children's "dress-up" house, a large trampoline and a vegetable garden.
For peace of mind, our home is fully alarmed and has unobtrusive electric fencing on its boundary walls. Having lived in the home for 10 years, we have also developed a well-established network of caring neighbours who would be very willing to be of assistance should they be required, or to leave you in peace to enjoy a well-deserved rest from all the magnificent sight-seeing Cape Town has to offer!
