About our home

Our second home is a modern yet subtle farm style Villa on Felicita Farm which is a 100 hectare private reserve, with an abundance of wild fauna and flora near the town of Stanford, which is one of the quaintest towns in South Africa. The infamous Hermanus, where the southern right whales come to give birth to their young every year around July - Nov, is about 20 kilometers from the farm.

The Villa is over 200 square meters with double volume wooded beam ceilings, with 3 comfortably laid out bedrooms, the main bedroom having its en-suite with a lovely bath cum shower while the second bathroom is comfortably sized with a shower.
The spacious living area with subtle decor gives a feeling of warmth and comfort. It boasts a lovely sized family dining table, comfy couches to watch satellite TV or lounge in front of the inside wood fired fireplace which is perfect especially for colder days.
The fully equipped kitchen will add the feeling of being "home away from home" with all the necessities when it comes to cooking up a good meal.

The north facing front terrace features a traditional wood fire and lounge chairs all with the most amazing 180° view of the Klein River Mountains. The Farm is 100% clear of any alien fauna species which we take great pride in as this is an ongoing problem in the region.
Abundant fynbos, which is indigenous fauna special to our region flourishes and we have our very own Milkwood forest by the dam.

A big plus for us, as it’s a lifestyle choice and the “zero carbon footprint enthusiasts” will understand, is that the whole Farm including the Villa is entirely powered by solar power. The Villa was featured on an “Earth Hour” documentary for being free of the national electrical grid.

More about us

  1. We are an easy going and adventurous couple. Being in the IT development business, Wayne and I work together and it allows for us to travel when we want to and work can be done wherever we are as long as there is good internet connectivity available.
We are passionate about what we do, how we live and our friends and family.
We did our first home exchange in August 2015 to France (Bordeaux) and it was so amazing. We love the old history and culture that Europe has. So being in the center of interest is great so we can use public transport as this is such an amazing thing about the European countries.
We look after other peoples valuables like its our own.

Where is it?

No immediate neighbors to the Villa which makes it completely private. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful and one can hear the crashing waves of the sea in the distance and not to mention the roars of the lions on the neighboring farm from the Lion Sanctuary, “Panthera Africa”, which can be visited.

The Villa is a mere 15min drive to the Village of Stanford. In and around the Village there are a variety of lovely restaurants, wine farms, a cheese factory, a micro brewery, beautiful blue flag swimming beaches and lots of shops.

Other more adventurous activities can include a boat cruise out on the Stanford river, whale watching and shark cage diving.
Cape Town city is a quick and easy 01h30 drive.
