My studio apartment is located in the historic centre of Stellenbosch, one of South Africa's oldest and most beautiful towns. The studio has a beautiful balcony view overlooking Stellenbosch Mountain – a tranquil spot to observe sunrise and sunset. From the studio, you have easy access to a wide variety of activities and attractions:
You are walking distance from renowned restaurants, viby cafés, two gymnasiums, two libraries, the university campus and several parks. It takes about 7 minutes walk to the foot of Stellenbosch Mountain where one can easily explore different footpaths, or do an epic hike. By car, it takes about 7 minutes to the entry of the majestic Jonkershoek National Park, a perfect place to go for a hike or rent a mountain bike. Stellenbosch is also situated in the heart of the Winelands District of the Western Cape Province. Locals love to go wine-tasting at the dozens of wine farms at their disposal. The iconic Cape Town is a 45 minute drive from Stellenbosch (easy and affordable via Uber).
The unit itself is a cozy loft-style studio apartment. This space comprises of a small living area, bed, desk and kitchen in one single, open space (the bathroom is an enclosed room next to the kitchen). Furthermore, the unit has a small balcony and you have access to a small, but lush garden. Perfect for someone seeking solitude, a writer, or someone who needs a safe home base to explore South Africa from. Further details:
– The unit itself is a backyard annex of a typical Cape Dutch house. The landlord lives on the property. Despite this, the unit is totally separate from the main house. Therefore, you have your own entry towards the studio which is totally private.
– Although ideal for one person, there is adequate space for two people. The 3/4 bed (110 cm wide) might be a bit tight for a couple used to a bigger bed ;) There is however an extra mattress.
– The unit itself is 9 x 5,5 meters.
