About our home


Our restored retro styled Honeysuckle Cottage is fully equipped self catering with an open plan kitchen and living-room with TV and dining room table and has large sliding doors, leading to an extensive patio with a private garden and barbecue facility, providing a calming feeling where guinea fowl wake you up and owls put you to sleep.

The cottage sleeps two adults in a private double bedroom with a double bed.

The lounge offers two single sleeper couches. There is a flat screen TV with selection of DVD's for entertainment. There are games for young and old to make your stay more enjoyable.

And additional single bed on wheels can be booked that slides under the main double bed if small children are in the family.

The bathroom has a walk in shower and there is a separate private toilet.

The kitchen comes with a washing machine, full fridge freezer, five gas burner Technogas cooker and a microwave.

After a day in which the many activities of the area can be experienced, you can enjoy a relaxing barbecue on your private patio.

A housekeeper is available - details to be confirmed regarding your exact needs.

We do not allow parties or additional guests.
For point swaps a cleaning fee of $100 is charged as well as a security deposit.


Stellenbosch is world renown for our elegant wines and beautiful scenery.
Stellenbosch was fonded in 1679 on the banks of the Eerste River.
Today we have beautiful restored buildings dating back more than 300 years with museums, art galleries, restaurants, bistros, coffee shops and shops to compliment our other history.
The closest wine farm is 5min drive but a further 10min takes you to more than 30 wine farms and afield.
There is a nature reserve 5min walk from our home into the mountains with hiking trails or mountain bikes tracks for the adventurous.
Jonkershoek Nature Reserve with spectacular waterfalls and mountains trails is just outside of town and is promoted as the number 1 mountain biking destination globally.
In our neighbourhood there are a few parks with playing areas for kids.
We have families of guinea fowl roaming the streets with squirrels and other small animals.

The closest beach is 20min drive.
Cape Town International airport is 30min drive.
Cape Town is 40min drive.

Innerland Riebeek Kasteel in Swartland - 45min
Paarl and Franschhoek - 25min

Our home is 5min drive to two world class golf courses - Stellenbosch and De Zalze Golf Clubs.
Within less than 30min drive you will find another 7 championship courses.

Mountain biking
Stellenbosch wants to claim capital of mountain biking globally and Jonkershoek Nature Reserve area and surrounds could seal the deal.
Plenty of trails for all levels of riders.
Ride out from home to the famous G-spot trails in less than 5min.

Stellenbosch offers plenty in food gastronomy with plenty restaurants in historic Dorp and Church Streets or if you prefer most wine farms have beautiful organic gardens serving their own restaurants.

Helderberg and Jonkershoek Nature reserves are within 10min drive and you are rewarded with beautiful scenery, river walks and amazing waterfalls.
You can also hike directly from the house to Coetzenburg Nature Reserve.

Wine farms
Stellenbosch award winning wine farms - Vriesenhof Vineyards and Klein Zalze Wine Estate - are within 5min drive.
Venture another 15min and you will reach another 50 or more beautiful vineyards with the beautiful Stellenbosch Mountains as backdrop with some facing the Atlantic Ocean.

Whether you are want a family beach day, enjoy an early morning surf or even learn to surf, Strand Beach is the perfect spot and is a 20min drive only.

Cape Town
Within 40min drive you will reach Cape Town with the famous new 7th wonder in the world, Table Mountain with opportunities to come close either hiking up or taking the cable car.
Cape Town's beaches and restaurants are world renown.
Riebeek Kasteel
The Swartland Valley offers new world wines by young winemakers that are raking in awards and the scenery is beautiful too and can be reached within 45min.
Whale watching capital of the world is just over a hours drive from us.
A 90min drive will take you to the quint fishing village on the West Coast and is worth a visit to enjoy the bay and buy your crayfish for supper.
Although in Africa, when you enter this small village next to the Riversonderend Mountains you would think you are in England, all only 90min away.
Also known as Waenhuiskrans because of the beach cave where an ox wagon can turn around in.
This beautiful fisherman's village in the Overberg has been awarded as one of the top ten hideaways in the world by TIME magazine.
Wishin just over two hours and then head to
Cape Agulhas
Visit the real most southern point of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet which will take another 30min.
