About our home

Our new home is a townhouse in Die Boord, a lovely leafy suburb near the old historical Dorp Street. The house is sunny and light, with two bedrooms downstairs. The main bedroom with en suite bathroom, has a Queen size bed, the second bedroom a double bed. The bathrooms offer bath and shower facilities. On the mezzanine you can enjoy watching TV. This area also has the two single beds, computer and air conditioning. The kitchen is open plan with the dinner area and lounge, with exit onto the patio with covered pergola. Here you can sit out in the shade or sun and enjoy a barbeque in true South African tradition. Pick your own lemons and herbs from our garden. Our Honda Jazz is very easy to drive. We hope you will enjoy our house and town!

Neighbourhood

Stellenbosch is a lovely old university town, full of history, culture, viby students and lots of places to eat out, visit slow food markets, see films, attend theatre and music concerts. It is set amongst beautiful mountains, with lots of hiking trails and vineyards. If you like jogging or cycling, you will find many safe routes. Do a wine tour and enjoy the excellent wine and beautiful wine farms. The nearest beach is half an hour away. Cape Town is a 40 min. drive away. There are many small towns in the vicinity set amongst vineyards and orchards.
Our house is situated right next to the Eerste River and opposite a vineyard. Within 500 meters is a small shopping centre with groceries, pharmacy, Post Office, banks and ATM`s as well as take out eateries. And if anything unforeseen happens, we are just diagonally opposite a private hospital and doctor`s rooms ! In spite of all these amenities close by, the small complex we live in is very quiet and feels like living in the country.
