Neighbourhood

Away from the hustle and bustle, Stilbaai is one of the best tourist destinations on the Garden Route - a pollution-free, safe and peaceful place to be.

Thanks to the shallow bay, the clean extensive sandy beaches, with Blue Flag status during the Dec holiday season, the lagoon and navigable Goukou river, every kind of water-related activity can be undertaken: swimming, sunbathing, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, angling, walking, sailing, canoeing, boating and water skiing. Many different hiking trails to explore.

Stilbaai also has a rich history and the fish traps found along the coast are living examples of ancient technology. Together with the shell middens found along the coast, as well as the Blombos cave, these are visible evidence of the Later Stone Age.

Eden Country Area includes Albertinia, Riversdale, Heidelberg and Witsand. This area includes many activities, such as guided tours to various fynbos export farms, while scenic areas such as the Korente/Vette River Dam offer peace and tranquility. Grootvadersbosch, belonging to Cape Nature, a beautiful indiginous forest just outside Heidelberg is also included.
• The Aloe factory in Albertinia.
• Witsand via Blombos and Vermaaklikheid where beautifully renovated cottages can be seen. Cross the Breede River at Malgas with the famous pontoon ferry - the only operational one of its kind in South Africa.
•Oudtshoorn - visit the Cango Caves, ostrich farms, Meiringspoort or Swartberg pass. Return via Robinsons Pass and Mossel Bay.
