Still Bay is 3.5 hours leisurely drive on the N2 straight from Cape Town International Airport. It could not be easier. It sleeps a family of 7 easily in 3 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms plus Guest Cloak Room. There is a lounge (TV), Diningroom and Games room plus balconies and a Braai Patio. You walk to the beach in minutes.
Nearby there is SHARK DIVING, BUNGI JUMPING, ELEPHANT RIDES, CANOPY TOURS, SAFARIS, MONKEY WORLD, etc
Our little Beach Home in Stilbay is available to you all year, except December and we don't have to have simultaneous (or equally long) swaps! We really are very flexible.
You can see the area on the map: It borders on SKULPIESBAAI, a beautiful Fynbos Nature Reserve, a small golf course is within 5 minutes walk, there is a river where one can hire canoes. Surfing and fishing is great, The rockpools are worth exploring. The "Vywers" are National Monuments and very ancient(google them), The eels are famous too and can be seen at Palingat nearby. (They are hand fed at 11 every morning.) Very charming, this rural town at the start of the Garden Route, is lovely for day trips: to go ride elephants in the Knysna Forests, or take a canopy tour, or visit Monkeyworld, near Plettenberg Bay, etc.(Please do Google all these elements?)
Our home is easy to manage. There are lots of games for rainy days.It has all the conveniences to make your getaway as relaxed and stress-free as possible. A little villiage library is within walking distance and holidaymakers can join.
There are several little restaurants and quaint little shops in the villiage. People are generally very friendly and welcoming to strangers. Still Bay is relatively crime free.
Our home has lots of stairs and old people may battle. There is a cleaner available, but you pay her yourself - according to how often you need her. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The beaches are ledend. You can walk for miles on them: clean and white. In July and August Whales come into the bay to calve and many people watch them. Bring your binoculars for a close-up view :-) Surfing is quite popular here and the best bathing months are usually from November to March.
The nights can be spectacular and stargazing, moonlight walks on the beach and outside barbeques make memorable times in Still Bay. If you are lucky you may see phosheresence or wish upon a firefly.... The multitude of wild birds in the Nature Reserve outside our bedroom windows are enchanting to listen to.....especially early in the mornings. Small buck are often sportted in the area out of season. We had a family of Steenbuck on our patio one morning this October.
We bid you a warm welcome and we know that once you have been here, you will want to return again and again to this place of the heart.......
