About our home

Barceloneta the old fisherman's quarter, minutes from beach, fabulous marina and minutes from chic El borne districts is one of the most visited area of Barcelona.A touch of sand and also Barceloneta inside, rows of restaurants and tapas bars on the seafront, mixed with traditional images of residents sitting on chairs on the street and narrow balconies that exhibit hanging clothes in the sun are all components of a truly Spanish holiday experience. This is a city pad by the sea. All parts of the city are within a short walking distance. Public transport affords easy access to all of the city and beyond this fabulous city of culture and gourmet cuisine which is Barcelona. The apartment is located on the first floor and due to its corner location is a bright , compact holiday home. Estacion de Franca is five minutes walk and from there you can travel by train to the airport, Barcelona El Prat and to villages and cities outside Barcelona. The metro is 3 minutes walk while the famous walkway , Las Ramblas, is just 5 minutes away. it is located on the same street as the famous Can Ramonet Restaurant. Barceloneta is a vibrant, living and very cosmopolitan village and nowhere else in the world is there the equivalent, bordered by Marina, beach and city. The apartment ,37 sq metres in size, is typical of homes in the neighbourhood. It has a small , well equipped kitchen, gas central heating, instant hot water, Air conditioning and all the necessities for a wonderful holiday. The sofa chairs are also beds. While we currently do not have wifi, it can be accessed from the cafe opposite. On a late night out, you can call to local bakers and get anything you fancy hot straight from the oven and from the bakers hands, where else , could you have your breakfast even before you go to bed?

More about us

  1. We are a middle aged Irish couple and unfortunately for me, my husband, Brian, is an angling enthusiast, I am more of a city girl! Brian has retired and our girls are grown so we are ready to really explore the world!

  2. We bought barceloneta apt six years ago and never tire of all that the city offers no matter what season, music, football, concerts, beach, terrific cuisine and festivals to suit all.

  3. We love good food, new sights and living and experiencing life like the locals.

Neighbourhood

Buzzy restaurants
Will suggest according to your preferences, age, etc list is endless and cuisine for all tastes and budgets, good cooking facilities so hope you are tempted by local markets to dine in occasionally.
Cool bars
Surf Bar on the beach. El Borne , littered with all types of bars and wine bars.
Cozy cafés
So many, we could not possibly name them all and part of the fun is finding your own special place.
Retail therapy
Tiny designer boutiques in El Borne, all European shopping available in Port Angel and surrounding Placa Catalunya. Shops to suit every taste including some very eccentric but after all , this is the city of design and the Catalunya culture , architecture and its history of Art permeates everything. Also much fun!
