About our home

Our flat is a beautiful 150 squared meters condo in a XIX century building of historical interest. It lies at the very heart of Barcelona's old town, El Born, just by La Ciutadella, a beautiful park with walking trails and three playgrounds.

The flat has retained all its original features: 4,30 meter high ornate ceilings; wooden shuttered doors & windows and solid timber floorboards, creating a vintage atmosphere, which is combined with modern facilities. It is tastefully decorated, with a mix of antiques and new furniture bought around the world. It has everything you will need for a comfortable stay.

The flat is bright and spacious (avenue at the front & courtyard at the back). The living room is big and luminous, with two balconies, and a library room.
It has three bedrooms: the master one is spacious, with a king sized bed and en suite bathroom. There is also a children bedroom with three beds and a small room with a single bed. Two of the rooms have a balcony, and there is also a second bathroom. There is a spacious and charming kitchen with a beautiful dining area.

You will love Barcelona and feel at home in our flat!

More about us

  1. We are a family of four: my husband and I and two kids aged 16 and 12. Peter is a Swedish engineer, I'm Cristina, literary scout specialized in Scandinavian literature. Alex and Nina are well behaved and well travelled. We all love exploring new countries, new cultures.

  2. We have travelled a lot and have done so far fourteen successful exchanges in USA, South America and Europe. We consider ourselves tidy and respectful.

  3. We are very fond of architecture and design and we think our house reflects that interest.

Neighbourhood

Our flat lies in El Born, just by the beautiful park La Ciutadella. It is a five minutes walk from the Picasso museum, a 10 minutes walk from the charming old harbour and 15 to the beach.
The Born district is considered to be the Soho of Barcelona, and it is one the most beautiful parts of the city with all the old world charm and a very local feel. Medieval streets, breathtaking palaces, churches (Santa Maria del Mar), markets (Santa Caterina) and museums. It is full of galleries, trendy as well as traditional shops, amazing wine stores and nice restaurants with terraces. It is very close to the sea and the Barceloneta district, an original fishermen neighbourhood full of tapas and fish restaurants.
Also at a walking distance are the city hall, the cathedral, the famous Ramblas, the Palau de la Musica, the market hall el Mercat de la Boqueria and Plaza Real.
And if you do not feel like walking, you have all public transport just at the corner!
There are multiple public transportation options- the yellow and red metro lines; numerous bus routes; the regional train lines connecting to the beaches to the south just one block away. Barcelona is full of bike paths (you can ride to the beach on a bike in 10 minutes taking only bike paths and just crossing car traffic a few times).

We have a long list of suggestions; we love to give advices about enjoying the city and choose the best restaurants off the touristic mainstream.
