About our home

Industrial modernista Catalan - NYC Style flat
Industrial style loft located in Vila de Gràcia, one of the most unique and oldest neighbourhoods in Barcelona. The flat is 70sqm including a balcony of 7sqm which is south facing allowing sun to beam in from early rise to mid-afternoon. In addition we have an extraordinary view of Barcelona on the community rooftop where you will see both Sagrada famailla and mount Tibidabo which is the mountain back drop to the city.

My partner and I purchased this property in 2016 and have since completely refurbished every aspect. The property is modest in size as we purchased with a strong focus on location which in our opinion is the best in Barcelona as it is away from the busy tourist streets and is right in the heart of Villa de Gracia leading onto the main square, packed with cosy cafes&restaurants. The property is very old and was built in the late 1800's therefore we wanted to keep the charm and all original features such as the wooden ceiling beams and the mosaic tiled floors which have been fully restored. In addition to keeping the originality of the building, we have customised everything with a unique Italian made kitchen and bathrooms with a mixture of micro cement and exposed brick walls. Designed with Love!

Open plan kitchen and living room area with two good sized bedrooms with double beds and individual bathrooms in close proximity. Two very comfy mattresses on both beds - one full memory foam and the other a mixture of both springs and memory foam. State of the art air conditioning unit running through all areas of the apartment including bedrooms in addition to ceiling fans to ensure you will be cool in the hot months. Barcelona can get very hot and humid.

Negative points we should mention: The community area needs refurbishing and a good paint!! 4th floor Attico with no lift.

Day tripping
Barceloneta – This is the main local beach and it is really nice to walk along as there is a great atmosphere and lots going on. Although in my opinion not the best for relaxing and it can get crowded o Sant pol de mar – This is one of our favourite beaches on the way to Costa Brava, 45mins drive/train A bit quieter, nice restaurant on the beach and a rough natural coast line much like the rest of the Cosa Brava coast o If you drive there you can take the coast line route and there are many beaches on the way too. “Callas” – Callas means small cove in Spanish. If you wanted to explore and drive a little further, Costa brava has some lovely hidden beaches that you can reach by car. We have been to most on the list! https://staybarcelonaapartments.com/blog/costa-brava-best-beaches/
