About our home

Our home is a 45m2 atico (top floor apartment) situated in the center of Barcelona, 2 small double bedrooms, bathroom and open-plan living room and kitchen, with fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, toaster, microwave, tv, dvd, stereo, high speed wireless connection and most other things you might need. Inside it's compact and cosy but the best thing is the spacious terrace that the living room opens out onto, which faces south so has sunlight all day and most of the year (don't worry if you're shy of the sun though; we've just fitted a large retractable shade). It's about 25m2, and fully furnished with tables, chairs, loungers, barbecue and plenty of plants - feel free to help yourself to any of the home grown produce if you stay, but please try to water them as often as you can! And smoke as much as you want, but do it on the terrace while enjoying the view...

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

From the terrace you can see the mountains of Montjuic, site of the '92 Olympics and a good place to go for a walk or jog or to watch the magic fountains, and the wonderful MNAC (Catalan National Museum of Art). In fact, the apartment is ideally located whatever you're into. It is only a 10/15 minute walk away from La Ramblas and the centre, and even closer to the bustling barrio of the Raval, where you can find contemporary art galleries like MACBA and CCCB and tons of cool places to eat and drink. Our neighbourhood is just on the edge of the old city, so it's quieter and less crowded with tourists, but still busy with a huge range of small shops and local folk going about their daily business. Sant Antoni market (one of the oldest and most famous markets in Barcelona) is one block away and a great place to go for all your fish, meat, fruit, veg and cheese requirements. Every Sunday morning there's second hand book/film/music focused flea market in the same place that's well worth checking out. One final plus is the fact that it's quick, cheap and easy to get to Barcelona airport (30 mins,5 euros, really easy).
