Our cosy apartment was the first phase of development which places it very close to the pool and restaurant, open year round. The pueblo is made up of approx 80 apartments set high on a mountain top, with fantastic scenery and excellent for hiking. It is located in the amazing Cumbre del Sol, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The view from the balcony is spectacular and we have spent many evenings dining al fresco, drinking Rioja and star gazing. The apartment has 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin. The sofa is also a double bed. The open plan kitchen is well equipped, with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. There are two bathrooms, one has a bath and shower, the 2nd has a shower.
The apartment does not have Wifi, however it is available at the pool restaurant, less than 50 metres away.
Cumbre is generally quiet, however within easy reach of tourist towns and beaches, by car. 5 minutes from Moraig beach and Moraira is a further 10 minutes away. The pretty beach town of Javea is 20 minutes by car where there is an abundance of restaurants, cafés, Chiringutos and water sports including kayaking, windsurfing, bodyboarding, water and jet skis. Several beaches along this coastline also offer snorkelling and scuba diving. Within an hours drive you can visit Valencia, Alicante, Jalon and Gandia. The upmarket beach town of El Portet is minutes away and several sports personalities own property there. It attracts a lot of interest due to its micro climate and year round high temperatures.
We have owned this property from new since 2006. Our circumstances have changed since then, as our children now holiday with friends and we have 2 small dogs who travel with us.
For August, we would like to stay somewhere less hot and further North from Valencia as we travel by car from the UK. We are looking at other, more rural Spanish locations and Northern Italy and France. We are very flexible, as our Spanish home is not our main home. We would consider splitting August across several different properties, if this was more convenient. We would also consider sharing, if the property was big enough. We would visit other destinations at different times of the year, without the dogs, however August is our main holiday as I am a secondary school teacher and my husband is a director in the construction industry. I am dictated by national school holidays in October, Christmas, February and May. Open to suggestions!
An exciting cycling event occurs in September and this year came right past our Pueblo. The Vuelta, attracted 1000's of visitors to the region in September 2015. Whilst out walking the dogs, (very early morning in August) We would often see the athletes in training ( see photo).
