We are a couple of teachers with a nice, polite 12 years old daughter. We’d like to exchange our second home, situated in the beach area called “Cortadura” in the Andalusian town of Cádiz.
It’s divided in 3 bedrooms (5 beds), 2 bathrooms, a living-room with TV, DVD and PC, a wonderful balcony with amazing views on the beach, totally equipped kitchen with full kitchenware, dishwasher, washing machine, microwaves and electric oven.
The building counts on a caretaker, facilities for handicapped people and garage.
The house is few metres away the beach which you can sea from the balcony. It’s in the very town of Cádiz, near the approach to Sevilla highway and the one of Málaga too. In consequence, you have a little drive to historical towns like Sevilla, Jerez de la Frontera or Málaga and to the best beaches in Spain, near Gibraltar, like Tarifa, Bolonia or Conil. A 3 or 4 hours trip could take you to Tánger or Marruecos from Tarifa or Algeciras.
In the area you’ll find a railway station (where you can have a lift to the town centre) and several bus stops. It’s a nice place to live where you’re going to find many shops, restaurants, pubs, discos. In Cádiz, there is a walk by the beach where, during the summer, you can enjoy a variety of attractions like markets of handicrafts, cultural events and a funny night life.
The ancient part of the town is interesting and also the wonderful and famous “White villages”. Moreover, Phoenician and Arabian archaeological sites, surf areas in Tarifa, the wineries, the zoo and the motorbike meetings in Jerez de la Frontera. You can go along the “ruta del Toro”, visit the natural reserve of “Alcornocales”, the mountains of Grazalema, Phoenician and Roman archaeological sites in Bolonia, the village of San Fernando, where the 1st Spanish Constitution was signed in 1812 and several museums in Cádiz (military, naval, archaeological, the one of the Constitution…) Very enticing are the horse races by the beach in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
We are a family with a well behaved 12 year old daughter. My husband and I are teachers. We love to travel and meet people and we are interested in art, music, photography and reading. We have made more than 15 succesful exchanges, and are very respectful with the homes we swap.
We speak a little French and English.
