About our home

Located in the area of luxury estates called "The Campo", it is a leisurely stroll or brief drive to the international and cosmopolitan ‘Village’ of Cómpeta. The secluded VILLA ARBOLEDO (“House in the Trees”) is your gated, completely private, vacation estate for playful relaxation.

Sunbathe on the fully private pool terrace, and enjoy cocktails overlooking the hills and blue water Mediterranean Sea view.

Brilliant, comfortable, spacious and roomy... PLUS a romantic hideaway to nourish the soul, and feed the heart ~ Sunbathe, even in December! Breath-taking views~ Stay up on cozy evenings by the fire watching a movie in the lounge wing~ A balance of nature, charm, and modern convenience~

The original portion of this villa is over 100 years old, its charming provenance evidenced by the traditional beam work in the finca ('estate or ranch', in Spain) portion of the villa. Updated to reflect modern comfort and style, every bedroom has an en suite bathroom, a plus for privacy and convenience.

The oversize terrace is an extravagant space to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that is the hallmark of Southern Spain. The outdoors is an additional, and complete, living space to play, rest, cook, and dine. Enjoy the warmth basking in one of the sun beds, or simply relax under the shaded patios for a romantic evening. Munch casual buffet style tapas in the outdoor living room and around the spacious pool deck, or enjoy sit down dining under the covered veranda.

Direct access from the Master Bedroom leads to the oversized pool terrace, complete with an outdoor Living Room, an outdoor Dining Room, outdoor Fridge, and BBQ...and don't forget the VIEW!

Fully equipped kitchen with all conveniences: a new (2017) dishwasher, oven, plus microwave, clothes washer AND separate dryer, wifi.

All three bedrooms are en suite, a modern upgrade adding full baths to each and every bedroom.

A DVD library, plus English and Spanish television, along with Bluetooth capable stereo in the lounge are for your use. Chrome cast is provided if you wish to stream your own media.

Ample gated and secure parking in the private motor court.

Easy convenient access from the main road, you will not require a sports utility vehicle needed by other remote locations.

~Guest access:

You have access to the entire main house, surrounding grounds to enjoy outdoor life, the entire pool terrace and covered outdoor living room, and plentiful gated parking.

There is a separate owner's studio in the parking court, however it is never occupied while the Villa is rented to guests.

Included is a book referencing the area restaurants (including menus), available recreation spots, and other local resources to enhance your stay.

~Interaction with guests:

If I am not available to greet you, I have a multi-lingual staff, and a wonderful gentleman, Enmanuel, who will be there to greet you and provide service requests (such as a hot tub which is available for hire). Enmanuel was born and raised in the village and will be able to provide you with insight and history of the village.

~The neighborhood:

Terraced with vibrant art galleries and restaurants, Cómpeta is vivacious and engaging, while maintaining the cultural charm and grace of a traditional whitewashed Spanish mountain town. I proudly own one of the Village’s most popular and upscale restaurant destinations.

Cómpeta's name finds its roots in Roman heritage, derived from the Latin phrase Compita-Orum, which means "crossing of roads." It was a place where the Romans celebrated feasts, made offerings, or lingered to shop and sell products.

'The Lost Village'
Cómpeta has a neighbourhood on the mountain called El Acebuchal which recently has built a chapel for its few inhabitants. Their houses are spread over a hillside in an area named 'The Lost Village'. Today this area is an enchanting place to hike, stroll, and to enjoy an unlikely and excellent upscale restaurant (one of the few that often serves wild boar!).

~Getting around:

The villa is a pleasant 20 minute stroll into the village, or a convenient 5 minute drive. There are local taxis to provide you with transportation to the village (or to the coast and to the airport). In addition, there is a daily bus service to the coast from the village. We offer use of our discount privileges for car rental.

It takes approximately one hour to reach the village from Málaga Airport, along the coastal motorway, then inland. Once situated, it is only 20 minutes down the well-maintained mountain road to reach the beach resort of Nerja.

~Other things of note:

Relaxation does not mean giving up your healthy lifestyle. Horseback riding, hiking, and even kayaking at the coast provide a day's adventure, or simply relax on the Mediterranean's world famous Costa del Sol.

The Village has a full gym (weights and classes) that offers day & weekly passes. Private and class training in Pilates & Yoga are available, and a personal masseur is available to round out your day in Paradise.

If you can tear yourself away from the myriad of interests in the Village, elegant resort towns and beaches are just down the winding mountain road. A center for museums, shopping, and gastronomic delights await you in Malaga, or continue a few minutes to the nightclubs and gay scene in Torremolinos.


As this is a vacation home, we regretfully are not positioned to service requests for simultaneous or direct swaps. However, we happily entertain POINTS or RENTAL requests as follows:

POINTS swaps may be secured during low/shoulder seasons SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY (approximately mid September to mid June).

Point swaps incur fees to cover the Villa Staff, cleaning, pool, linens, and other administrative costs. Additional outlays required to open the Villa, and to cover the Villa Staff, are our out-of-pocket expense of £250, which we request those enjoying Points Swaps reimburse.

Points requests are not obtainable during high season.

During HIGH SEASON (Summer and Christmas holidays) the Villa is made available for RENTAL. £1325 Rental/week, 7 DAY MINIMUM, please inquire.

The property is listed on other vacation sites, and is in great demand during high season. Please be advised that this availability calendar may not be finalized while deposits from those requests are in process.
