About our home

Our house is a traditional Berber style house, which is over 300 years old, next to the picturesque Church in Capileira. It has been completely refurbished which more love and care in 2004 retaining the original character of the house.
Our home is clean and very comfortable and it offers the taste of country living where you can relax reading in front of the fire place in winter. However in summer is fresh because its kind of construction with big walls.
Upstairs there are a double bedroom with shower and other two bedrooms with bunk beds. Also a hall with a small library is next to the balcony. Downstairs there is a living room with fire place, comfortable sofa, a wood table and four wood chairs. The kitchen is full-equipped with microwave, toaster, fridge, washing-machine and dryer. The bathroom is small with shower.
Towels and bed-linen included. Please bring own towels for pool.

The neighbourhood is excellent and quiet. There is no traffic noise because it is situated in a pedestrian street, in the center.
Capileira is the most picturesque and popular white village of the high Alpujarra. It is located at the foot of Mulhacen with a singular and unique architecture.
Despite its size, the village has everything you need. There is a bank with atm, a chemist, two bakeries, a butcher’s, a newsagent’s, a grocery; two supermarkets, arts and crafts shops, art galleries, a cyber-cafe with terrace and a lots of bars, shops and restaurants, including bar-terraces, where you can enjoy traditional dishes and free tapas with drinks, a within walking distance from home.
There are many interesting local diversions, including hiking, horse-riding, mountain-biking, painting, pottery, dancing (flamenco), historic churches/villages, bird-watching, etc... For people whose like to spend a day having a sunbathing in a swimming pool, Pitres is about 15min. driving or visiting the coast. Salobreña is 45 min. drive where you can enjoy the excellent beaches and the nicest village of the coast.

Malaga airport is 230km. aprox. 2 hours driving, and Granada airport is 45km (1 hour). Car hire is available at the airports. A car is essential if you would like to explore more of the region during your stay.
Although public transport is available in the Alpujarras, two buses a day arrive and leave from Capileira.
