Our beautiful house 'Can Felip' has a modern look but is built on the foundation of a 19th century old house.
It is a comfortable place to live and it has 4 bedrooms. One master bedroom with a kingsize double bed with an en suite badroom with toilet on the first floor. Three more separate bedrooms on the ground floor with a bathroom and toilet.
Wifi is available. There is an outside terrace with barbecue, and in front of the house a 'veranda' with comfortable chairs.
We have no direct neighbours, the closest are at 90m and we enjoy our privacy. The path in front of the house can only be reached walking, we park our car a bit further away.
The house is situated near the Natural Parc l'Albera, which forms part of the Pre-Pyrenees.
There are many things to explore in the Natural Park L'Albera; Castles, Monasteries, Dolmens and Menhirs. You can hike, there are several routes (among them the GR11). Or take a bike and enjoy!
The house is near to the village (1,5km) Espolla that has a public swimmingpool and playground, two small supermercats, a butcher, a bar and two restaurants.
It is also close to the sea (Costa Brava) with beautiful beaches, (20min to Llançà). NIce places to visit not far away are: Cadaqués (45min), Figueres (20min), Girona (40min) and Barcelona (95min).
If you like wine, this is the area for you. Many winehouses make great wines. (D.O. Emporda) Check it out! Wines having rates 90+ points Parker or Peñin are plentiful.
In the villages surrounding Espolla there are good restaurants to be found: among them are Ca la Maria and La reina de Portlligat in Mollet de Peralada, Cal Sagrista in Perelada and Flor de Pagès in Capmany. If you prefer a restaurant with a sea view there is (among others) the restaurant on Platja Garbet (Llança) with its fish specialities or Miramar (Llança), a Michelin star restaurant.
Gastronomic specialities in this region are focused on the combination of mountain and seafood products known as 'mar i montanya'.
Castles and monastries:
Not far from Espolla is the Requesens castle that is situated in the heart of the Albera Natural Park and surrounded by wild nature.
