Our holiday house is a sunny and recently (2004) built duplex house on Cerro Gordo, a mountain settled in the west of La Herradura bay. On the ground floor there is a one-car garage (with a two-place kayak available for our visitors), two bedrooms (one with a terrace) and a bathroom. Downstairs, there is a living room, a kitchen with washing-machine and dishwasher, a toilet and the main bedroom with private bathroom. There are television, DVD-player in the living room, and audio-equipment. A great terrace with beautiful views to the bay completes this floor. We share with the others owners of the condominium a swimming pool, two paddle courts and gardens, available for our visitors too.
The house is placed in La Herradura, a quiet village with 2.500 inhabitants, 7 Km. away from Almuñecar, a coastal town with 25.000 inhabitants (in summer, the population raises to 100.000). La Herradura is a beautiful bay with a long beach, in a fertile tropical valley placed between the foothills of Sierra Nevada and the Mediterranean Sea. It´s a nice place to relax, very suitable for sea sports (windsurfing, kayak and sailing). It´s a special place for diving, due to its rich marine life. In the village itself and the neighborhoods you will find a lot of facilities: a protected area named Acantilados de Cerro Gordo – Maro (natural park next to the condominium), shopping centre and a lot of facilities (banks, post office, cybercafe, cinema, Spanish, English, Arabic and Italian restaurants). Nerja and its beautiful cave and beaches are 14 Km. away from the house, with a special music & dance summer festival in July. Cities as Granada (Alhambra, Albaicin) and Malaga are less than an hour drive away. In two-three hours, you can reach Marbella, Cordoba, Sevilla, Jerez, Almeria or Gibraltar.
