About our home

Our home is in the center of Madrid, in the neighborhood of Lavapiés, which is very trendy right now. The building is a Madrid traditional one, with the typical beautiful Madrid colorful brick façades and balconies (we have 4 balconies in a corner, with views to the street and the central plaza of Lavapiés). The house was completely renewed few years ago, so it has the elegance and historic touch of an traditional building, but all the commodities, facilities and minimal interior design of a contemporary house.

  2. We love Asian culture, design, cinema, art, gastronomy and music.

  3. We take a lot of care of our house, and we are looking forward to sharing it with you!

Where is it?

Lavapiés is a multicultural neighbourhood, where you can see at the same time Madrid traditional architecture and modern buildings such as the Valle-Inclán theatre or the beautiful ancient-modern remodeled building of "Escuelas Pías".

5 minutes walking from Reina Sofía Museum (and therefore 15 minutes walking from Prado Museum) and 10 minutes walking from Puerta del Sol. Lavapiés has the best part of a traditional, relaxed neighbourhood where you can have an easy and peaceful day-to-day and all the excitement of being in the center of Madrid.

As a multicultural neighbourhood, it is filled with traditional Spanish bars and restaurants as well as authentic restaurants from India and Senegal (perfect for curry and homemade delicious nan), Senegal (they prepare amazing rice, couscous and mafe), Libanon (babaganush, hummus, tabouleh...) and Italy. At night, there are many cozy bars to dance all the night. Besides that, there are many cozy cafés with homemade bakery and deliciously home-roasted coffee.

Buzzy restaurants
Banglatown (curry and nan), Baobab (Senegal-style couscous, rice and mafe), La Antigua Taquería (for carefully made Mexican food), El Jamón (for Spanish "raciones" and "bocadillos"), El Boquerón (Andalusian style bar)
Cool bars
Amor voodoo (beers and cocktails), El Juglar (to dance all night long)
Cozy cafés
Pum Pum (perfect for brunch), Carmen (for coffee and croissant set breakfast), El Cafelito (superb chai-tea-late and bread with tomato), Peyma (for Spanish "churros y porras" and "pincho de tortilla")
Bit of culture
Traditional Madrid-style "corralas" (a kind of collective housing), the ancient building of "Escuelas Pías", Reina Sofía Museum and Library
Walks in the park
"Casino de la Reina" Park
Spot of exercise
"Casino de la Reina" Park
