About our home

Our Lavapiés flat is just steps away from Puerta del Sol, (km 0 of the city and the proper city center) and is located in one of the most trendy neighborhoods, crowded of alternative theaters, bars and restaurant, Rastro and art galleries. Culture: Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía, Museo Thyssen, Tabacalera, Art Gallery Street Doctor Fourquet, Caixa Forum, Casa Encendida; Nature: Parque del Retiro; Shopping: Malasaña neighborhood; Food&Drink: La Latina and Huertas Neighborhood; Gay scene: Chueca Neighborhood, are all within 5-15 minutes walk away and our building sits at Lavapiés, La Latina, Tirso de Molinaand Embajadores subway stops and not far from Atocha Rail Station stop.

This historic building was built in 1890 and fully renovated respecting the original architecture from this popular “madrileño” neighborhood. We bought it in 2002 and removed everything and renovated it on that year. After two years out of home we have recently moved in again and we renovated it using organic wall paint and varnishes for the oak floor all over the space.

Our 105 meter flat has the main room connected with the huge living room a kind of loft style (see pictures), with two balconies to the street. We love antiques and vintage furniture, so you will enjoy the great chandelier lamp nineteenth century and other pieces from twentieth century mixed with contemporary furniture.

The flat has 3 rooms: main room with double bed, one baby room with baby crib and one studio with desk and book shelves. The bath room with hydromassage shower. The kitchen is fully equiped and one of the most used parts of the house!, we use to cook a lot and you will find almost professional tools in it, also gas stoves and of course washing and dishwasher machine. All the apartment has heating for the cold winter in Madrid.

It is a third floor with elevator.

We're incredibly conscientious when we home swap and will care for your home as you would. Our place absolutely suits with a family with a baby, but if you have 2 children we could arrange and extra bed for him/her. Well educated dogs are welcome and it is a non smoking apartment. Cleaner is available.

We're happy to answer any questions you might have!

We are two lawyers doing other things :-), I run a small company and my wife run two Mexican restaurants in town. We love travel, food and culture!
