About our home

Our beautifully restored home and private pool is situated near Riogordo in a secluded and peaceful location surrounded by terraced gardens and borders full of exotic plants, cacti and trees including oranges, lemons, figs and pomegranates. Panoramic views to the mountain of La Maroma and the white washed mountain village of Comares which glistens in the sunshine and twinkles with lights at night. This small and unspoilt area of La Axarquia not far from Malaga is still untouched by tourism just the undulating landscape of olive and almond trees. Yet the Cortijo is well situated for visits to Granada, Córdoba, Sevilla, Gibraltar, Marbella and Malaga and locally Nerja, El Torcal and the coast. The Cortijo is in the original style with beamed ceilings, the windows have shutters and heavy wooden doors with authentic handmade features. The accommodation comprises of two master bedrooms (one superking bed and one king) one bedroom leading onto a terrace, both ensuite and with tv’s. Plus a pretty bedroom with two single beds with wrought iron wash hand basin. Please note though, we only take four adults plus baby. Living room area with U.K. TV + Netflix. Dining area with mini kitchen, office with extra fridge freezer, huge separate bathroom etc. The Cortijo is cool in summer and cosy and warm in the winter, we have aircon converters (card paid) and central heating plus a wood burning stove. If at home, we live in one small secluded part which is separate to the guests accommodation and guests have solo use of the pool and main terraces and garden. Guests find it helpful if they need information or bookings etc to be able to ask us. There is a folder in the Cortijo full of information on shopping, sightseeing, restaurants, day excursions and places of interest to visit with directions. We welcome families, friends and couples. Great location for a romantic break. If you need a quiet peaceful holiday in a relaxed and very comfortable atmosphere yet within reach of lakes, sea and sightseeing, then Cortijo El Terral is for you.

Where is it?

Beautiful hilltop setting with flat ground surrounding the Cortijo. Wonderful views across the mountains and to the mountain top village of Comares and down towards the coast. The area is mainly rural with olive and almond trees which bloom in the springtime like a rash across the hillside. A great base from which to explore the famous cities (see writeup) and for reaching many different restaurants, lakes, great walks or biking and exploring. There is so much to see and do or simply relax by the pool and listen to the birds.
