About our home

The property benefits from a large fully fitted kitchen with a washing machine, dishwasher, oven, toaster and coffee machine. Full sets of crockery and cutlery are provided as well as all the usual kitchen staples that you may need to prepare meals. The house is also managed by our local agent who is available for assistance 24/7 and professionally cleaned after each guest.

The spacious and airy main room is fitted with a cosy wood burning stove for the winter months. Large comfortable sofas, a flat screen TV and DVD player with a sound system are also provided. There is a good selection of fiction and books on the local area and the various walking trails. Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. We subscribe to the premium service and the connection speed is generally excellent.

There are three good size bedrooms. The master bedroom is en-suite with shower toilet, bidet and hand basin featuring two balconies with spectacular views onto the natural park below. There is a king size bed with double wardrobes and storage chest of drawers. The amazing view of the valley from here with the fragrance of jasmine below makes for a great start to the day. The second bedroom has twin beds, a double wardrobe with a storage chest of drawers and its own Juliet balcony. The third bedroom has two single beds and chest of drawers. The bathroom for these two bedrooms is fitted with a shower, bidet and a bath.

The property benefits from a large terrace and a secluded garden overlooking a picturesque almond grove and is a great place to enjoy breakfast in the morning. In the evening there are breathtaking views of the sun setting onto the mountains of Sierra Grazemala Natural park.

The private walled garden can be directly accessed from the kitchen or the main room and is ideal for some alfresco dining. A barbecue is provided and we can provide you details of where you can buy good quality locally sourced meat, fish and other products. The garden is well stocked with lemon, apricot and olive trees as well as herbs including mint, rosemary, bay, and thyme. Guests are more than welcome to pick the fruit and herbs for use in the kitchen.
The property enjoys easy free access to a semi private pool 2 minutes walk away. The pool area is equipped with comfortable sun loungers and offers great views across the valley. At one end of the village, there is the large municipal pool. Best time to visit between 11 and 3 when guests will often find they have the place to themselves. A truly marvellous place to view eagles and vultures coasting in the mountains above.

Surrounded by spectacular mountains on all sides, Montejaque is a charming village with excellent local amenities including a bakery, several grocery shops and some excellent drinking and dining options.

Upon booking we will send you a short guide setting out all our favourite places to shop, eat and drink. The historic town of Ronda(15 minutes away)is perched on a plateau above spectacular cliffs and the dramatic gorge splitting the town in two is spanned by the famous 18th century bridge, featured in the Hemingway book. Montejaque is ideally placed for visits to Seville and Granada.

Getting there
The airports of Seville,Malaga and Jerez are almost all equidistant from Montejaque.(about one and a half hours). There is a regular coach coming up from Malaga and it is even possible to take the train from Granada.
