About our home

I have a bright and airy bungalow overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in one of the loveliest developments in the Orihuela Coast (Alicante)area. The kitchen faces the swimming pool where you can sit under thatched umbrellas while you sunbathe. There is a smaller baby pool attached to the main pool which is almost 25 metres long if you like doing laps like I do. A large majority of the neighbours are foreigners and there are about 14 different nationalities which makes it quite cosmopolitan, although in summer there is a large number of Spanish people. The beach is about 300 metres long and the water is usually quite calm so there is no danger for children. From April to November there is a bar right on the beach and also a nice, clean restaurant which has live music during the summer nights. On Sundays there are also performances on the beach as well as Salsa classes. There are gyms in the neighbourhood.

My bungalow has a big terrace with a table and four chairs and a lounge chair on the patio. There is a small garden with cactuses and hibiscus. Inside there is a living-room/dining-room with a long sofa, coffee table, on the wall TV, and an extendible glass dining-room table and 4 chairs. The kitchen is white with all the modern conveniences such as an induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, oven, etc. There are 2 tastefully decorated bedrooms with built-in closets, ceiling fans and a dresser. The bathroom has a built-in shower with a sliding glass door and two heads. There is a bidé and a cupboard with a mirror. It has been completely renovated.

More about us

  1. I was born in New Orleans, La. (U.S.A.) I came to Granada, Spain on a college (Beloit, Wisc.) program and met my husband who was studying law there. We have been married for 44 years and are both retired. I worked as an English teacher for 38 years. I like travelling, reading, doing exercise (swimming, pilates, water aerobics), walking, going to the cinema, etc. I love soccer and am a Real Madrid fan. Actually I love most sports. I would like to travel now that I have time and am still in good shape. I''m 68 and would be interested in going almost anywhere.

Neighbourhood

The development where my bungalow is located is one of the loveliest in the area. It has a lot of vegetation such as pine and eucalyptus trees. It is a great place to take peaceful walks and go to the cape where there is a great restaurant overlooking the sea and where there is live music and dancing Saturday nights in the summer. There is a big terrace where you can have a drink or an ice-cream etc. Down below there is another restaurant right on the beach where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner and savour paellas which Alicante is famous for.
Or if you prefer, take a walk up to the highway where you will find a strip which has a lot of restaurants, bars, shops and night life. If you like shopping, the biggest shopping centre in Spain is open at the next roundabout from Cabo Roig - the Zenia.
