About our home

Paraiso del Palm Mar is a beautiful residential complex in a small town, Palm Mar, just ten minutes drive from the larger resort of Los Cristianos.

The climate in Tenerife is excellent all the year round and life is very much centred on outdoor living and our apartment has more space outdoors than indoors with no less than four terraces two of which have unspoilt views of the pool and Atlantic Ocean.

We love to entertain our neighbours and friends in the evening on the front terrace with a BBQ and several bottles of the superb local Spanish 'vinos'.

Near to Palm Mar is a typical Canarian resort called Las Galletas and where your spending money will last you much much longer than the tourist areas of Las Americas.

A further ten minutes along the coast heading back to the airport, you will find the charming seaside town called El Medano, world renowned for surfing, but a delight for visitors who want to sample a typical Canarian day and evening, watching the fishermen and surfers whilst sampling the local cuisine and wines.

Often, in the summer evenings there will be fetes, fiestas and shows in the vibrant town square.

Whilst Palm Mar is fairly small and quiet there are now more than a thirty good quality restaurants/cafe bars and a superb beach club called Bahia Beach. The beach in Palm Mar is a mainly rocky but there is a very popular, part sand area near a beach bar called La Chiringuito where you can hire sunbeds and enjoy life with the locals.

The complex at Paraiso del Palm Mar has three pools and out of the school holiday period you can very often be the only user.

The airport is a 15 minute drive away and should you hire a car, which we recommend, the apartment has its own private garage.

A further ten minute drive will bring you to Siam Park regularly voted the best water park in the world by Trip Advisor and the hustle and bustle of Playa Las Americas.

Wherever you are in Tenerife you can see the magnificent, often snow capped peak of Mt Teide and the day trip to the top of Spain's highest mountain in the cable car must not be missed.

Shopping is also a major pastime , with several top class centres with all the designer labels you could wish for at the Safari Centre in Las Americas, El Duque ,The Dukes and Siam Mall. Further along from the shopping centre in El Duque is an area of Tenerife that has seen many 5 star hotels built in recent years.

The island's capital, Santa Cruz, is about a 45 minute drive away along the TF1 and well worth a day out. Just past Santa Cruz is a long yellow sand beach known as Las Teresistas, built for the residents of Santa Cruz, but well worth a day out for beach fans.

Tenerife is the perfect place to enjoy all the year round sun, nightlife, shopping, golf and water sports but most of all, when you are tired of all of this , retire to the peace and quiet of Palm Mar with its lovely restaurants and bars and the tranquility of our homely, well equipped apartment.

We have owned our apartment for fifteen years, since new and we know lots of delightful places to visit, such as La Caleta and Garachico, places you will not see in your average tourist guide but a delight to visit.. We are more than happy to provide you with the details of our favourite places.
