WE ARE LOOKING FOR EXCHANGE FOR CHRISTMAS 2015 IN PARIS (somewhere between December 17 - January 3 of at least 1 week) OR WINTER SKI EUROPE JAN-MAR 2016.
Our 100 square meter apartment is located in a family building with only 2 units per floor on the 5th floor with elevator. The building was built in the 1920s and many of the original details still exist like wood floors, stain glass windows, high ceilings and original furniture. There are windows and light in every room. We are on the fifth floor and there is an elevator.
There are only 2 apartments per floor. The main bedroom at the front of the apartment has a double bed for a couple and the 2 bedrooms at the back of the house have one single bed each. You can use the house comfortably if you are a family of maximum 5 people with 3 kids and 2 can share a bed or the third child can sleep on one of the sofas in the living room. The main bathroom has a shower, toilet and bidet. The extra bathroom is a small room with a toilet.
In our living area we have a flat screen TV with basic Spanish channels. We have a DVD player and Apple TV so you can watch DVDs or stream movies from your Macbook or Ipad.
Our neighbors are very lovely people. We ask that you are respectful and quiet. Because of the wood floors, we don't allow our children to run around the house loudly as to not disturb the nice lady downstairs.
Our home is smoke free and we do not smoke. If you must smoke, please do so in the terrace outside.
My family and I love to travel! I am a writer and my husband a skater/surfer. We are Americans, but live in this beautiful city. It is very safe and our 2 daughters, age 9 and 14, travel together alone to many places by bus, bike or walking. Spain is very family and child oriented. There is a baby park at the end of our street, with many nice outdoor cafes you can watch your kids play from and a bigger park 2 blocks away.
Right outside our doors are many cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as public transportation. The famous Zurriola surfer beach is 2 blocks away, as well as Kursaal Theater which offers many performances. The old part of town, Parte Vieja is a short walk of 10 minutes or less just over the bridge. It is very easy from our location to walk to all the best neighborhoods outside of Gros within 10 minutes. There is a hike at the end of our beach called Monte Ulia which takes you on a mountain along the ocean and is part of the Camino Santiago route. We are 20 minutes from the French border and you can take the Donostia Metro from Hendaye train station into town.
We have an older dog, which stays with friends when we travel. We may consider a small, quiet dog if you ask first.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
