About our home

Our house is a semi-detached house in the small village of Sant Pol de Mar, a traditional mediterranean town, beautiful and quiet (although not so quiet in summer!), named after its charming XI century hermitage devoted to Saint Paul.
The house has two floors: on the ground floor there is a spacious living room with astonishing views over the town and the sea. The kitchen is also on this floor, together with a small study room with a piano, and a toilet.
Downstairs there are three bedrooms (one of them with a double bed and a bathroom en suite), a small playing room, another bathroom with shower, and a big laundry room. There is a patio outside.
The house is well located in the town, close to the centre and the sea. It takes less than 10 minutes on foot to reach the beach and the train station. There are a bunch of restaurants and shops nearby, and we have lovely neighbours.
Travelling to Barcelona takes an hour by train or around 45 minutes by car. In Calella, the northern neighbour city, you will find lots of restaurants and all kind of shops and facilities. Sant Pol has easy access to other cities and beautiful places in Catalonia such as Girona and Costa Brava.

Buzzy restaurants
There are a bunch of nice restaurants in the centre of the town, near the house. Banys Lluís offers excellent sea food and paellas. If you like meat, you will enjoy Can Talamàs. If you prefer pasta or pizza, you can go to La Selva, where they also serve good-quality grilled meat and vegetables. There is also Sant Pau, a three star Michelin restaurant owned by the renown Carme Ruscalleda, which has to be booked long in advance.
Cool bars
Ca l'Arau and Biribar are good places to have a drink during the day. At night, Banys Lluís is a nice beach bar to chill out.
Cozy cafés
Deby offers snacks and splendid ice-creams on the way to the beach. El Nou Grimal has also very good ice-creams, while hot meals are served for lunch and dinner.
Retail therapy
There are some small nice shops in the main street of the town centre, Carrer Nou. However, if you want to spend a few hours shopping going to Calella is the best option (5km from St Pol, 1 stop by train or 5 minutes by car).
Bit of culture
Visiting Saint Paul Hermitage is mandatory if you come to Sant Pol de Mar, where you can enjoy a fantastic view of the coast. Walking along the streets of Sant Pol will allow you to discover splendid modernist houses.
Day tripping
Some nice places you can visit are Barcelona, Costa Brava, Girona and Montserrat (marvellous mountains).
