About our home

Our home is set in the heart of the Basque country in the beautiful town of Tolosa. It is a comfortable and spacious flat on the fifth floor (with lift) and has magnificent views of the centre of Tolosa. It has a modern fully equipped kitchen, three bedrooms and lots of natural light. It has a garage in the same building with direct lift access.

Tolosa is a vibrant town bustling with old Basque traditions intertwined with the luxuries of modern life. It is famous for its carnival; its renowned international marionette festival; its weekly farmers’ market, and its several gastronomic events. "Tolosaldea" (greater Tolosa) offers a wide range of gastronomic delights: restaurants serving some of the best-grilled meats; Michelin-starred restaurants committed to quality, art, and innovation; pub countertops brimming with some of the best "pintxos" to be found (i.e., small servings of elaborated savoury dishes) and quaint pastry shops with a select range of quality pastries. Every Saturday there is an important regional food fair offering a carefully selected choice of vegetables, cheese, breads, locally-picked wild mushrooms, ecological products and, of course, Tolosa’s own black beans!—see link for further information.

Our home is one step away from the breathtaking city of San Sebastián-Donostia, which celebrates a wonderful Jazz Festival in July. Conveniently located near the train station, visitors can easily explore other parts of the Basque region as well, such as the beach towns of Zarautz, Getaria or Biarritz to enjoy a day of surfing, biking, hiking, etc; or visit Pamplona (San Fermin—running of the bulls festival) or the magnificent city of Bilbao with its spectacular Guggenheim Museum. And, for those wine lovers, just a two-hour drive away you will find yourself immersed in the centre of La Rioja where hundreds of wineries await you.
We also have an apartment in Jaca, in the Pyrenees, which you can enjoy:
