More about us

  1. We are a British couple with 5 grown up children and 5 grandchildren, some of whom we occasionally travel with or who may visit if we have a swap in the UK. We also have two lovely and very friendly rescue dogs at our home in Jungle Tide, I only mention this in case anyone hates dogs or has allergies. The dogs (Toffee and Suki) are not allowed in any of the bedrooms or on any furniture. They are very used to a constant stream of guests, and are great fun to accompany you on walks - they can even bring you home if you get lost amongst the tea bushes!

  2. We Also let out individual en-suite rooms on a B & B basis for 110 points per night for two people please see our seperate entry. We cannot accept swaps in July/August or at Christmas/ Jan/Feb as we also run as a guest house and these are peak times. We offer preferential rates to people from LHS wanting to book as guests during these times.

  3. Sally was born in Sri Lanka as the 4th generation of British tea planters to be born out there. We both retired here permanently in 2015. We now run our home Jungle Tide as a guesthouse, sWe both love to travel and when we can afford to we travel extensively and we come back to the UK frequently to see our children and Grand children. So are always interested in UK swaps!

Where is it?

Stunning mountain scenery, cooler in the hills we are at 3,000 feet - so a year round temperature in the daytime of 25-33 degrees and nights between 14 - 24 degrees. A chance to see the local village life of Sri Lanka with no other tourists around (usually!) great hiking , friendly villagers, yet only a 30 minute drive into the chaos and beauty and bustle of Kandy City.... with all its buzz and hassle, history and beauty. But you will be glad to escape the noise and pollution and retreat to your mountain home at the end of a busy day!
