About our home

We live in a modern and charming villa built in old style nicely refurbished last year with two new bathrooms, one with shower and one with a bathtub. We have a small garden and a carport. Here you find everything you need for a good vacation.

More about us

  1. We are a couple in our 60's. We met and got married a few years ago. We love music, antiques, art, design and literature, as well as good food and travelling. We like to associate and make new friends. We have done two successful exchanges. One to Australia and one to California. This year we would like to stay in Europe, maybe Italy or France. But we are open to all suggestions. I, Asta, am a retired librarian and my husband Gunnar is a writer and used to teach at the university. We both speak English and Asta also speaks German, a little French and a little Italian. We have both moved here from Stockholm where we have children and grandchildren.

Where is it?

We live in a quiet neighbourhood, close to the sea in the village Brantevik that used to be the home of fishermen and sailors. Nowadays it´s mostly the summerhome for people from Stockholm and other big cities. 5 km from here lies the small town Simrishamn surrounded by a landscape, well known for its light and beauty. Many artists from all over the country have moved here. This part, Osterlen, is also called Sweden's Provence. Here you find kilometers of sandy beaches with a rich fauna and flora. There are many orchards here and when they are blooming in June it is extremely beautiful around here.In Simrishamn you find a lot of shops and restaurants. There are also some interesting castles and historical sights in the neighbourhood. If you want big-city life you can reach Sweden's third city Malmo in about one hour's drive from here or Denmark's capital Copenhagen, half an hour more over the famous Oresund bridge.
