About our home

Our flat dates back to the 1950's when Kortedala, Gothenburg's first suburb, was built. The house is located in a quiet street in a residential area with the outdoors just around the corner. It is great for those who enjoys peace and quiet and going for nice walks in the forest or a run around the jogging track.
The flat itself is old fashioned and rather typical for the 1950’s with a homey feel to it
Partly furnished and decorated with items from that time, the atmosphere is cosy with a hint of retro. Situated on the second floor in a three storey house (no elevator!), the flat overlooks a big leafy yard with a childrens playground. On the back it faces a couple of detached houses and the forest across a cul the sac street with very limited traffic.
The flat contains two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, one bathroom and a balcony. The kitchen overlooks the yard and has a balcony facing southwest, which is a nice spot to enjoy breakfast or coffee in the summer. The large bedroom has a large single bed (120 cm, it can fit two adults with a squeeze) and the small bedroom has a standard single bed (90 cm). The bathroom has a shower only and there is access to washing machines downstairs (has to be booked in advance).
The public transport is really good with the tram stop a 5 minutes walk away and three lines to choose from. All lines take you into city centre and everything it has to offer in less than 20 minutes. It is also possible to cycle in to town, but be prepared to for some uphill cycling on the way back since Kortedala is quite hilly. However, if you don’t mind the extra work going up hills there are plenty of nice cycle routes around, both close by and further away. Gothenburg is also a good city to explore by bike with lots of cycle tracks and city bikes to rent for a small fee. I also have three ladies bikes, one with a childs seat on the back, and a couple of children’s bikes (12", 16" and 20") that you are welcome to borrow.
Since we have two cats our home is not suitable if you are allergic. Our cats usually keep to themselves and should not be in your way, but if you are able to look after them during your stay that would be fabulous. Otherwise I can make alternative arrangements. Of course we would be happy to take care of any pets of yours during our stay.
I have a very good relationship with my neighbours and I expect you to be considerate and avoid partying and loud music. Furthermore I expect you to treat our home with care and respect, just like we will treat yours. Smoking is not allowed indoors, but there is always the possibility to smoke on the balcony.

Welcome!
