“Victoria, Johan, Elvira and David have an idyllic house in a lovely part of the countryside, a residential area not so far from Stockholm (30mn). We rent a car from the airport the first day. We could drive anytime from their home to the city center by subway easily. The house is beautiful, clean, calm and cosy. The enclosed little garden is full of flowers and veg. The area is perfect for exploring the countryside, Stockholm and of course the islands...Lots of places to see with car or boat. We loved our stay and the way we spent there. The weather was perfect to walk, to swim, to visit. Close to their house you can find some nice wild beaches, with pure clear water to swim. We strongly recommend this house and family for a house exchange. They are nice and helpful. They helped us preparing our stay, and make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We kept in touch regularly to exchange ideas, pictures and suggestions. They took good care of our house. Thanks to the whole family for a really enjoyable stay.”

“Todo ha sido muy facil en nuestro intercambio con ellos. Han sido muy cuidadosos con nuestra casa y muy acogedores en la suya. Son una familia encantadora. La casa está situada en un entorno tranquilo, muy cerca de bonitos paseos en el lago, y bien comunicada con el centro de Estocolmo. Muy recomendable!! ”
Where is it?
We live in a children-friendly townhouse area, with walking distance to grocery stores and a pharmacy, as well as a couple of minutes walk to three different play grounds, without crossing a road. There is also an inn from the 1900's to walk to. By car or bike you make your way quickly to at least three different swimming areas, as well as Görväln, a beautiful nature preserve with a 1500 years old hillfort (Gåseborg).
A ten-minute walk gets you to the bus that quickly takes you to the subway or commuter train further into the city of Stockholm (a total travel time about 40 minutes). In Stockholm there are a wide variety of cultural experiences, such as art museums, the Vasa Museum, the Old Town and Skansen (a Swedish zoo). As well as shopping, of course! In the city there is also the option to take a boat out to Stockholm's beautiful archipelago.
Sigtuna, a city from the 10th century and the oldest in Sweden, is only 45 km from our house. A longer trip (about 80 km) could be made to Mariefred, where one can visit Gripsholm Castle from the 1500s.
