Neighbourhood

Uppsala is a dream destination. The city is close to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, yet offers both picturesque countryside and the vibrancy of a big city. You can experience both history and modern living on a visit to Uppsala.
Uppsala has many exciting places to visit and everything is close at hand. Go shopping, enjoy a delicious meal in one of the many restaurants or discover interesting sights in the city’s historic district.

Buzzy restaurants
Aaltos Italian Grill & Garden: This Italian grill is a pleasant meeting place and a tribute to world-renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto and his love of Italy and the Renaissance. Dryck & Mat: At this little pub with just 17 seats, the focus is on drinks. Every week, a carefully crafted drink menu is prepared accompanied by three dishes that exquisitely complement the selected drinks. Frenchi: It serves a playful mix of French cuisine and exciting Asian flavors. Hambergs Fisk: One of Uppsala's most popular seafood restaurants; its genuine interest in marine life is the soul of the business. Jay Fu: The USA meets Asia – in the middle of Uppsala; an American steakhouse, Asian style.
Cool bars
Miesto, Stationen, Miss Voon
Cozy cafés
Fågelsången, super nice, just a picturesque 15 min stroll along the banks of the Fyrisån river.
Bit of culture
Uppsala Castle. Building started on Uppsala Slott (Uppsala Castle) in 1549 during the reign of Swedish King Gustav Vasa who intended it as a fortress. Look up from almost any location in Uppsala and you’ll see it on the skyline at Kasåsen.
Walks in the park
The Uppsala University Botanical Garden stylishly houses more than 7,500 plant species and is part of the Linnaean Gardens, with the Linnaeus Garden and Linnaeus Hammaby.
Spot of exercise
Uppsala Municipality is home to many wonderful areas for recreation, where you can experience nature and enjoy the outdoors. Discover the city's green open spaces on foot or by bike. There are plenty of trails and walking paths for everyone who likes to walk, run or hike in beautiful natural surroundings. Årummet, Upplandsleden, The Linnaeus Trails and Gula stigen are just a few examples.
Day tripping
Go to Stockholm and and take a trip out to sea by several cozy islands
