About our home

If you want to visit Stockholm and stay in a house with garden, bbq and no hassle with parking, then Stora Essingen is the best place to stay. A grand old villa with sea view in one of the top spots in Stockholm, on an island inside the city parameters, you bike to the city in 15 minutes (bike paths all the way) or even walk over two bridges with beautiful scenery to Kungsholmen in 15 minutes. The walk along Norr Mälarstrand to the city center is one of the nicest you'll come across. The direct bus from our island square takes you directly to all major parts of Stockholm (no need for taxi, driving or subway) and if you just want to chill on our island you have bathrobe distance to our own beach and good jetty to jump from as well as grocery and a few restaurants and cafes. The island also has a gym (membership required) and great jogging tracks along the waters to the west, south, north or east around the quays of Stockholm city.

Kitchen, dining room and living/TV-room and balcony in south overlooking the sea (but with lots of trees in front) upstairs and four bedrooms downstairs. Three toilets and two bathrooms.

Our garden has a large trampoline (with safety net), dining table, patio with grill and a sofa where you can sit and enjoy the view and sounds of the sea (boats and guls). Just nearby on the island you have a small playground and larger with a "play pool" for the youngest, a kids basketball court, swings as well as a full size fotball field. On the island you have many opportunities to swim and you have beautiful boradwalks around the island of approx 3 km.

Where is it?

Beyond our island Stora Essingen you stroll into Stockholm and either rent a kayak or SUP and paddle around the islands. If you prefer land, you move towards Djurgården, Rosendals garden cafe and stroll along the canal, visit world class museums and art galleries. If you prefer the city you a have everything in a bit different modes in the different parts of town, Södermalm, Vasastan or Östermalm, all with its own vibe, but always with great restaurants, cafes and shops.

Beyond Stockholm, you have to go to the archipelago, either wild style, camping on your own island or in a hostel or hotel (book early)

Buzzy restaurants
so much happens so I am simply not up to date. But I'll give some advice and we go from there
Cool bars
There are a lot of cool bars in Stockholm. Roof top bars have become quite common and they both offer awesome chill as well as beautiful views over the waters of Stockholm
Cozy cafés
So many, let us talk about it before you arrive.
Retail therapy
Sofo is fun, Center has everything
Bit of culture
Everywhere, most museums per capita in the world one example
Walks in the park
Stora Essingen (our island), Djurgården and the jogging tracks from Stora Essingen in all directions
Spot of exercise
I can definitely give you advice on this. You got everything, but I recommend running, kayaking or SUPing
