About our home

Our home is comfortable, clean, and spacious. It has a large kitchen with adjoining dining room. The deck overlooks the garden with several fruit trees, flowes. The garden is private, but in Sweden we don't usually have fences around our houses. I love spending time in my home and having friends over, it is warm and inviting. The house has two floors. The upper floor has 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The main floor has 2 bedrooms, one office room, one large sitting room (45 m2), a big kitchen, one bathroom and a guest toilett. There is a small garden around the house, and a garage. The house is very comfortable, nicely decorated and has a lot of light, especially in the long Swedish summer days.
By the way, we have a cat, called Chino. He is very friendly and easy to care.

We will soon (I hope) have another home: I bought a small old apartment in Lisbon which we have to complete renovate (my passion) and as soon as it is finnish I will put it in this site.

More about us

  1. We are Per and Gloria, with two children: Manuela who is 22 and Daniel 20. Manuela doesn't live at home but Daniel does. Per is a Swedish 62 town planner architect; he works in a small municipality about 120 km from Lund, called BÃ¥stad. BÃ¥stad and its sorrounded area are worth a visit, it is simply beautiful. He has also worked for the United Nations in several African countries and for SIDA, the Swedish International Development Agency. In fact, the family spent 4 years in Bosnia (1999-2003) where he was appointed as SIDA's representant for the Balcans. I loved it!
I am 57. I am half Portuguese and half Spanish. I work as an assistant administrator for a medical technology company called Gambro. Before that I also worked and lived in Madrid, London, Stockholm, Sarajevo, etc. I was born in Lisbon where I lived until I was 10; then we moved to Madrid where I lived until I married in 1984. I enjoy travelling and meeting new people, I am very sociable. I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English, Swedish, and quite a lot of French and Italian.
Per is a sports man. Unfortunatelly I am not... I enjoy decoration, cooking for friends, walking around in cities or places, reading, etc. And for about one year ago I discovered a hobby I am in love with: making pottery! My only regret: not having discovered it many years ago!

Where is it?

We live in a neighbouhood of small houses in the outskirts of Lund, 10 min. to the city centre. The area is very quiet and usually, "everyone minds their own business"... Don't forget that we are in Sweden and people here are very kind and friendly but they usually don't interfere with other peoples life. So, I have nice and kind neighbours around; we don't see each other much during the dark winter days but arriving spring, everyone starts coming out of their "coocoons" and then you can have a chat with a passing neighbour, or see people working in their gardens, children playing, and if the weather is nice, you can have a barbecue, or be invited to one.
Lund is a very old and pleasant university city, with about 100.000 inhabitants. There are students from all over the world here. It is considered an academic city but it is also a high tech center with big companies like Sony Ericsson. Other important industries include medical technology (Gambro), pharmaceuticals (Astra Zeneca), biotechnology (Active Biotech, among others), (Alfa Laval) and publishing and library services. The hospital and the university in Lund are two other big employers, with extensive research facilities.

It is very near Copenhagen and has a nice sorrounding nature. The landscape is quite flat in this part of the country, but very beautiful.
