About our home

Welcome to our iconic 1930s apartment building, overlooking the sea in one direction and a green leafy park in the other, yet only 5 minutes cycle ride from Malmö's beautiful old town and central train station. The 180 m2 apartment is spread over three split levels, featuring wooden floors, huge windows (facing east over the park and west towards the sea), an open staircase, generous kitchen and living areas, and many architectural and design features - all fully restored in 2016. We have a small balcony, as well as access to a large communal roof terrace with panoramic views over the old town, parks and sea down to the bridge to Copenhagen. Guests are welcome to borrow our Christiana cargo bike for getting around town and we have lots of toys and books for families with young children. Our apartment offers a great base for exploring Malmö, the surrounding Swedish countryside & coastline, and even popping over the bridge to fabulous Copenhagen.

Where is it?

Our apartment is perfectly located in the 'Riban' - overlooking the sea in one direction and green leafy parks in the other, yet only 5 minutes cycle ride from the centre of town, beautiful old town and central train station. The close neighbourhood is mainly residential, quiet and safe. There is a good convenience supermarket store just over the road open long hours, fresh fish huts round the corner (where fishermen sell their catch direct) and Malmo's new food hall nearby. For eating out, there's a 'surf shack' just next to our building, Greek restaurant over the road and Italian a couple of blocks away. More restaurants, cafes, bakeries and shops are all within easy walking and cycling distance - Malmo is famous for its fantastic food scene. The fabulous science museum, Malmohus castle museum, aquarium & art gallery and the main city library are all on the doorstep, as is the lovely Slottsparken park, which is great for strolling, canoeing and has beautiful gardens and a friendly cafe. The beach is 5 minutes walk away, great for running or walking, and the wonderful Kalbadhus sauna is ten minutes walk.
