“We had a fantastic time in Cillas beautiful house in Baskemölla. The house is very comfortable, nicely decorated, well organized and has everything you need for your stay and with the most fantastic view. It was a blessing to wake up with the breathtaking view (from one of the bedrooms upstairs) and by the birds twitter. The location was perfect for us as we could drive around and discover more of Österlen and all the small cafes and small garden stores etc. Baskemölla is a small and calm village, ideal for families who are not looking for nightlife and just a short drive from Simrishamn. Cilla was easy to communicate with and always quick to respond to any questions we had and helped out when the shower suddenly broke. I can highly recommend a swap with Cilla and I'm glad she had a great time in our house in Lofsdalen as well. Lets make a swap every year Cilla :) The only unpractical thing we noticed was the stairs inside (a bit to high, narrow and difficult to walk in for all of us, but most my old mother and my daughter) ”
Cilla's reviewsAs a host (8)
“Cilla is the most wonderful host, so caring and responsive. Her house is situated in a quaint village north of Simrisham, and is magnificent in every sense. The exquisite interior fits the style of house perfectly, and every wish one might have is cared for. The location by the sea is sensational. The pretty well kept garden with dining table or resting area, the large bright studio at the top, all with a direct view to the sea. The living area and the dining area, are filled with light and atmosphere. One would like to spend months at that house, watching the change of the weather, the colour of the water, the plants in the garden and one would not tire. There are great coastal walks and many interesting places to visit in the region. The most gorgeous sandy beaches of Sweden are very close. A must for anyone visiting Scandinavia!”
“We couldn't have had a more fantastic experience in Cilla's house! The location of the gorgeous house, was perfect. It was in Simrishamn, a small village in the beautiful region of Skane in Sweden. It was not more than 40 minutes by car away from everything to visit in the area. The house itself was delightful. It was spacious, with lots of light, thanks to the enormous windows that are all around the house, it was practical, and of course, decorated with an exquisite taste. It is right in front of the sea, with a small beautiful path that goes all along the shore. It is a must, to take a walk down this path, enjoying the green fields, (where we even saw some cows!) that end in the sand of the small beach. But most importantly, the warm welcome that we received from Cilla was one of the highlights of the trip. She greeted us with some typical Swedish drink, and with some snacks. She's a super warm and caring person, who made sure every last detail was sorted out. She recommended us some places to visit, and we even had dinner together one of the evenings in a very charming little restaurant in a town near the house. We had a very nice time, were we visited many new places, but also relaxed in the beautiful house. Thank you Cilla for a perfect summer holiday! ”
“Heaven on Earth! Skáne is the last paradise on Earth, and if you want to enjoy it, there's nothing better than to stay in this wonderful house, seafront. The house is located in a small village, made by few houses, in the east cost of Skäne's peninsula, in the south of Sweden. It's a spacious house, with huge windows facing to the sea and to the beautiful garden. It has wooden floors and a beautiful decoration were light colours prevail, and offers you a peaceful atmosphere. Right in front of the house there is a path, surrounded by dunes, vegetation, wild flowers and wooden fences, that allows you to enjoy long walks on more than 100 km in both directions, along the sea. White sand beaches totally deserted (for us Spanish is something unbelievable!) completely quiet and clean...you only see cows grazing peacefully on the fields right in front of the sea. Our group, made up by 2 families, arrived at Copenhagen, and from there, we rented a car. In less than 2 hours we arrived to our destination. We visited villages, castles, ecologic farms and cafes, natural parks, golfing courts and lots of artistic workshops. We met Cilla when we got to the house; she is a lovely person and she welcomed us with all her sweetness. She had left us fresh flowers and a delicious basket with local products. An other day we met again in Lund, and we talked over dinner about our previous and next exchanges experiences and it was nice to strengthen our new friendship. I strongly recommend to every nature lover, to stay in Cilla's home; Her house and her herself, are a perfect sample of balance and beauty.”
“Our house swap experience could not have been better. We did a non-simultaneous swap with Cilla. She and her two sons stayed at our lake house in Vermont in August, and we traveled to Sweden in late September. It was a treat getting to know them. We enjoyed introducing them to some of our favorite places Vermont, including a motorboat tour of our Lake Iroquois just after they arrived, their adventuresome day hiking Camels Hump, and taking them on an evening sail on Lake Champlain with Cilla’s two boys at the helm most of the time. I have to say that hosting Cilla and her sons was as enjoyable an experience as our visit to Sweden. Cilla’s home is amazing. Beautifully decorated and perfectly situated in a small hamlet on the Baltic Sea, and close to the charming village of Simrishamn. On our first morning, Karen and I made coffee and walked to the shore and then 300 yards to the hamlet’s miniature harbor. We sat on the breakwater in the sun, watched the two resident swans coast between the boats, looked out of the sea and planned our day. In the days that followed, we visited castles, ate amazing food, saw some of the most beautiful churches, and toured the surrounding countryside by bike. We spent two days in Copenhagen, visited the Viking ship museum in Roskilde, Denmark, and loved spending time in the City of Lund (where we were lucky enough to share a glass of wine with Cilla). No question – this trip was a 10. Thank you Cilla.”
“My seven children and I had a great trip to Sweden. I am a full time doctor and busy single mother and just wanted a beautiful quiet place for family time. Cilla’s home met my expectations and more. I have never stayed in home so organised! We were even left a few thoughtful treats on arrival such as nibbles, drinks and cards. The secateurs were in the correct place to collect flowers from the garden, the buckets, spades and toys near the door, the shopping bag easy to pick up on the way out etc…I have come home to declutter and reorganise. The home felt very airy and light with doors opening to the lavender and the ocean. A large room upstairs feels like Cilla possibly uses for yoga, we used it for the each evenings family talent show. A lovely big open space with a huge picture window towards the sea, perfect for bird watchers. When I sat in the garden I could smell the lavender with carefully placed tea light holders to release the scent with their warmth, hear the bees and birds. The house was located close to pretty woodland paths leading to an isolated beautiful beach where we had camp fires and the children safely played. We decided not to hire a car so every other day we walked about ½ mile to the nearest bus stop and my children were absolutely excited to go on a bus. The journey to Simrishamn was about 10mins ride; here we found cobbled streets, cafés and restaurants and a harbour to enjoy an ice cream. We had memorable evening sat in the spacious lounge with soft throws chatting whist the gramophone quietly played in the background. I would recommend Cilla’s home to all love home swappers! Cilla was so helpful throughout and I do hope we will be able to return the hospitality. ”
“Cilla's home was amazing and a perfect retreat for us at the end of the summer holidays. It is directly on the waterfront and we enjoyed long walks along the coast each day, hanging out in the beautiful garden, or relaxing in the sauna. Our kids were happy to have their own room, which even had some toys, and we were also able to bring our dog. The town is just five minutes away by car (for shopping groceries etc.). Cilla welcomed us personally and was a pleasure to communicate with before the trip, too. We’d love to come back one day!”
“Cilla and Terje's house is fantastic. Right by the sea in the beautiful fishing village of Baskemolla and only a few minutes in a car (or on a bicycle) from the pretty town of Simrishamn, with lots of cafes and restaurants. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated and they're very gracious and helpful hosts. A treat! :)”
