New York Times has selected the Skane region as their nr 9 top destination in 2016! And one cannot ask for a more beautiful location. This large, stunning house is situated in the picturesque village of Baskemölla, Österlen, only 50 meters from the sea on the southeast coast of Skane, Sweden. The closest town is Simrishamn, only 4 km away. The location is perfect for hiking, fishing, relaxing on white sandy beaches, bicycling, playing tennis, golfing, horseback-riding, or visiting art galleries and culture. If you long for city life Malmö is only 75 min by car away, and Copenhagen an extra 20 minutes.
Whether a couple longing for a luxurious retreat of their own, or family travelling with friends, this house is ideal. It is tastefully decorated with whitewashed walls and wooden floors and has Nordic design with minimal clutter. The living room which opens up to both the kitchen and dining area, has huge windows facing the garden and the sea. It has 2 sofas, an antique chess-table, and a 50” flat-screen television. The dining area has a large wooden French farm-table that comfortably seats eight. The kitchen is fully quipped and you can prepare your meals while watching the waves roll into the shore.
The two master bedrooms are beautifully decorated. The first, on the first floor, has a luxurious Carpe Diem queen–size bed and large adjoining bathroom with your private sauna. The second, on the second floor, has a magnificent sea view, and a private newly renovated bathroom with a shower. Both have luxurious bed linens and soft, fluffy bath-towels.
There are also 2 smaller bedrooms, ideals for guests or children, each with two comfortable twin beds.
Then there is the ”Sanctuary”. This large room has a gorgeous ocean view, a small white antique writing desk, and two comfortable Lamino chairs facing the sea. Formerly an artist studio, the room is ideal for painting, reading, writing, meditating or doing yoga -- a room that will inspire the free soul in you!
The garden has been featured in Swedish garden books. It has three ”rooms”; one for socializing and having long leisurely meals, one ”meditative area” with 2 lounge chairs for reading and relaxing, and a small herbal garden where you are free to pick your fresh herbs for dinner.
Available are also 2 bicycles, tennis racquets, children’s toys, and picknique gear. Car swap can also be discussed depending on availability.
