About our home

In 2020: Our place is available from July 3-10, then July 18-24/25 and then again July 27-August 2. We are looking for a house in Sweden with a pool from July 18-24. We are also open to non-simultaneous or point swaps. In the summer of 2021 we want to travel to Norway, as well as Germany, Alps, Slovenia.

-------
This 2 bedroom apartment is perfect for a family as we live here with two kids (6 and 4 years) so you would have access to toys, high chair, travel bed and play area. But we have also hosted groups with only adults so that's perfectly fine too.

The area is one of the best in Stockholm. It's very residential and quiet but a 2 minute walk will take you to a busy area full of restaurants, shopping and bars. The subway stop is also 2 minutes away and in 2 stops you will be in Old Town (that you can also walk to in 15 minutes). 5 minutes away is the commuter train (Södra station) that will take you straight from Arlanda airport.

Supermarkets and playgrounds are just around the corner. In 5 minutes you can walk to one of the cities biggest parks – Tantolunden – that also has it's own little swimmable beach (about 15 minute walk). One of the best views over Stockholm is only 3 minutes away (Ivar Lo's Park).

THE APARTMENT:
Built in 2015, the apartment has a new feel to it. Open layout between kitchen and living room; big windows lets in lots of light; modern bathroom with tub, washer/dryer and towel heater; big balcony with lounge furniture overlooking a small green area and a pedestrian street with no traffic. Super quiet apartment!

The kitchen has a table that fits 6-8 people, dishwasher, marble counter tops, induction stove and big fridge and freezer. The bigger bedroom has a California king size bed. The other bedroom has a children's bunk bed. The top bunk is fine as an adult bed, the lower is basically a mattress on the floor. It's also ok for an adult to sleep there but we want to be clear about what it is.
It is also possible to have one person sleeping on the big couch in the living room (not a sofa bed but long enough to fit even a tall person).

Elevator building with easy access when you come with your suitcases or your kids in a stroller. The complex has a backyard with BBQ and seating, and a small playground that can be used on weekends and evenings and certain summer weeks (when the preschool there is closed).

We have a parking spot in the garage. If we use our car on our trip you can use the spot.

More about us

  1. We are a couple with two small kids (born 2014 and 2016), so most of the time looking for a family friendly place, but we will sometimes travel without the kids too.

  2. Lotta used to be a travel writer but now owns her own e-commerce business and Andrew works in the tech field. In 2020 our older child starts school so we can only travel during school holidays, but some weekends we are in our countryhouse so our Stockholm apartment might be available now and then Friday-Sunday.

  3. We love lots of different types of travel experiences – big cities, nature, beaches, arts & music, skiing, hiking...

Neighbourhood

The area is one of the best in Stockholm. Located on a quiet street but with restaurants, shopping, bars, parks, supermarkets and playgrounds around the corner (2 minute walk).

You are 2 minutes from the subway Mariatorget and 2 minutes from several buses (one of the main lines in Stockholm - bus 4), and 5 minutes from the commuter train (Södra station) that will take you straight to Arlanda airport. You can walk to Old Town in 15 minutes or take the subway 2 stops (4 minutes).

The happening square Mariatorget is very close. In 5 minutes you can walk to one of the cities biggest parks – Tantolunden – that also has it's own little swimmable beach (15 minute walk). One of the best views over Stockholm is only 3 minutes away at Ivar Lo's Park. You can also walk to Medborgarplatsen, that has lots of outdoor seating for a lunch or drink in the sun, in 10 minutes.
