About our home

Have your cake and eat it! Space, comfort and cosiness, close to city centre. This house is ideal for a large family visiting Stockholm. Family comforts (laundry room, garden, opposite a playground), just 7 mins walk to train with 12 mins ride to Stockholm central station.

The space
1920's charming wooden house with all the modern comforts a large family could need. The house is surrounded by a large garden and across the road from a park with swings, slides, paddling pool, and even pigs and sheep in a local farm school. The perfect base to visit Stockholm with a short journey to the centre of town during the day and the calm and cosiness of a house and garden in the mornings and evenings.

Guest access:
Use the whole house including the 4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen etc... You can even use the playhouse in the garden! Even have a guest house with a bunkbed and barbecue.

Interaction with guests:
We will not be present but will be available before and during the stay on the phone and skype to make the stay as comfortable as possible.

Other things to note:
We will provide you with maps, guides and tips on local food and shops.


More about us

  1. We're an international couple with 3 young children (8, 6 and 2). Julian is half English, half French, Andrea is Swedish.

  2. Julian works as an independent marketing consultant and Andrea works in product development.

  3. We love travel, and food and spending time together as a family. Our home is comfortable, full of fun and the mostopen and welcoming kitchen, ideal for socialising with friends.

Where is it?


Solhem (Home of the Sun) is a cosy residential area with old houses and lovely neighbours. The park across the road has a playground with swings, slides, paddling pool, trampolines... ideal for younger children and is next to a college specialised in farm animals, so you even hear the sheep, pigs and peacocks from the house!

Getting around
Parking for 2 cars available. 7 minute walk to closest train station (with a direct ride to Stockholm's central station in just 12 minutes). Walking distance to local shops, restaurants, pub, bakery and butcher. Also buses connect the area to bigger shopping areas should you not have a car. Spånga, the larger area has a little square surrounded by local shops and businesses. A famous butcher (Dennis Korv), a fish monger, an outdoor fruit and vegetable market, an award-winning bakery and a newly opened Juice Bar are some of the highlights.

Buzzy restaurants
Fantastic authentic Thai take-away, pizza, Juice Bar, Sushi, A short bike ride away are fancy restaurants and cafes such as Tobbes Kök or Bistro Bromma.
Cool bars
Caledonian Inn, a local Scottish pub with outdoor seating

Spånga Konditoriet, Talita's Bageri, Juice Etc, Bistro Bromma
Retail therapy
A famous butcher Dennis Korv, a fish monger and an outdoor fruit and veegetable market, all within less than 5 minutes walking distance.
Bit of culture
Just a 20minute train ride into the centre of town with all the cultural attractions of Stockholm
Walks in the park
Small children's park literally 5 meters across the road from the house and bigger parks with more adventures and nature within walking distance.
Spot of exercise
Open running track 5 minute jog away and 3 free outdoor gyms in parks all within 10 minutes jog
Day tripping
15 minutes to beaches and sunbathing on cliffs (if you dare to swim in the Swedish sea!), forests and nature reserves nearby too. Camping in the forest also easy to do as an overnight adventure with children (can borrow camping kit).
