About our home

Our apartment is in one of the old houses of Gamla Enskede. Last year the house had its 100th birtday which we all celebrated. We love this house and the people living in it are very friendly. Behind the house there is a nice garden where you can have your coffee or dinner (in the summertime!).

Our home is full of light with wooden floors and a high ceiling. We have three large bedrooms that the kids use. There is also a sunny kitchen and a livingroom that are almost as one big room, but can be separated by a sliding door. In the nights we turn the livingroom into our bedroom thanks to a wall bed cabinet (which makes a comfortable double bed in 10 seconds).

Well that's about it. Oh, I forgot, we also have a small TV-room with a lot of good films. And there is one bathroom as well as a separate toilet.

More about us

  1. We are a family of five people. Per is Norweigan. Annette is Swedish. The kids are 18, 16 and 13. We have lived in Stockholm for 16 years, all the time in the same home. Before that we lived in various places and countries. Annette is a teacher of languages and religion and Per is an expert at the Financial Supervisory Authority. This summer we want to travel somewhere warm and sunny, but since the kids are getting older and have their own minds all of us will not come on this trip. We have made two exchanges before, one in Paris and one in Quito, and it all went very well. Since we usually spend our time out of town in July that is a good time for you to stay in our apartment. And Stockholm is very nice, actually quite magic, in the summertime. =)

Where is it?

Gamla Enskede is like a small town and still very close to the centre of Stockholm (10 minutes with the underground). The area was built between 1908-1940. Here there are a lot of charming houses, crooked streets and funny small parks that you will find if you go exploring. Central Stockholm is wondrously beautiful, built on islands. The archipelago of Stockholm consists of 30 000 islands and there are lots of boats that will take you there. Beside that, Stockholm offers everything that cities offer. For some more information about Gamla Enskede: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamla_Enskede
