About our home

Our home was rebuilt and redecorated in 2009.
We are five families sharing this house from 1908, and we have a shared garden and laundry facilities and parking spaces for all of us. Set at the top of the hill in the lovely, child friendly area of Gröndal (Green Valley) it's a beautiful spot with an amazing view of the lake and the city across. A four minute walk to the tram and bus stop and shops and café´s, and another ten minutes to the underground station and major shopping. We usually cycle around. 10 minutes by underground to the city centre of Stockholm.
This apartment gives you the best of two worlds: it's located next to a lovely lake where you can go swimming any time of the day, there are beautiful walks around the neighbourhood, along the lake and through small woods and up and down steep hills. And yet, the apartment is so close to the city you can be in the middle of it in no time. In the summer we have most of our meals outside in the garden, simultaneously overlooking the city and watching people going down to the lake for a swim.

More about us

  1. We're a couple with a 5 year old girl, Kira, and a baby boy, Frank.

  2. We both work in the film industry - Rolf is a gaffer, Ragna is a DoP

  3. We love homes with personality and irregularieties, our own home included.

An Indian, a pizza-pasta place, s Sushi restaurant, a dingy Chinese. That's about it.But go to Hornstull (5 min by tram an tube) and there are plenty of buzzing restaurants, or go to the city where you find can choose whatever you want.
Cool bars
Nah, not in the close proximity - well, there are bars but they're not cool. Nearest tube stop - Hornstull, is buzzing and cool indeed
Cozy cafés
Lundbergs Konditori: award winning baker, sells and serves fantastic Swedish fika and pastries and sourdough bread. Wakapapa: serves delicious vegetarian food and great coffee. Winterviken: a 20-min walk away in a nearby parkland area, excellent food and pastries. Vintervikens Trädgårdscafé: an organic café set in a communal garden.
Retail therapy
In the tiny centre of Gröndal there is a good supermarket where you'll find everything you need. A good supply of organic produce as well. A Pharmacist and a Newsagent. A Libanese food shop and take away restaurant. For proper shopping take the tram 2 min to Liljeholmen and visit the shopping mal there. Food, fashion, books, technical stuff. Or take the tube to the city (10 min) where you'll find everything and anything.l
Bit of culture
Färgfabriken, a huge art space set in an old paint factory. Contemporary art and architecture. Comes with a very good lunch restaurant.
Walks in the park
Plenty! There are great walks everywhere around.
