About our home

Small renovated studio in the heart of Stockholm. I live in a townhouse with my wife and daugther in the north of Sweden and use this as an overnight apartement when I work as a journalist at the Swedish Television in Stockholm. It's small (only 15 square meters), but well planned with high ceiling, a double loft bed, a sofabed, a big window and in a fantastic location. It's 100 meters to the ocean walk and the tram and close to all major attractions. The subway is a 5 minute walk(one stop from central station).

I can recommend having breakfast on strandvägen while watching the spectacular view or visit the outdoor restaurant and watch the sun set in the ocean with a glass of wine. Within short walking distance (10-15 minutes) you'll reach the best restaurants and clubs in Sweden, the royal castle, old town, the southern island, museums, city beaches with clean water, boats to the archipelago, amusement park, zoo etc. Around the corner you find sushi, pizza, thai, takeout, italian, staek and seafood restaurants. Though this is a fashionable area it's easy to find good and affordable places to eat. Wheter you're a couple or have kids you'll have lot's of things to do. 4 grown ups will be to crowded i think (you'll have to climb over eachother), but I've stayed here with my wife and 3 year old daughter many times.

The apartement has a small kitchenette, microwave oven, fridge, separate freezer, a 40 inch flatscreen smart-tv with skype kamera. High speed internet (100 mbit) and a computer. I also leave a mountain bike you can use (you could also lend another bike in Stockholm that has a lending system for bikes) and a baby stroller. I'm 40 years old and interested in sports (used to go downhill skiing, now cycling a lot), music, photography and litterature. I've studied law, political science, business administration and theatre. My wife is a geologist and we both enjoy nature, travel and wilderness.

More about us

  1. We are a married couple with a three year old girl. We are both television-journalists and are curious to find out how people in other countries live their lives. Since our daughter was born we are looking for a fun and comfortable way to explore the world. We like the outdoors, sports, culture, biking, sailing, travelling and growing our vegetable garden. We would like to learn to know you by email before the exchange.

Where is it?

Stockholm is the main capital of Sweden, home to abaout 1,5 million people. It's known for its beauty, its buildings and architecture, its abundant clean and open water, and its many parks. It is also referred to as Venice of the North.

Stockholm is Swedens centre of politics, economy and culture and the geographical city centre is situated on the water, in Riddarfjärden bay. Over 30% of the city area is made up of waterways and another 30% is made up of parks and green spaces.

Writers as August Strindberg and filmmakers as Ingemar Bergman was born and worked in Stockholm. The writer Stieg Larsson has been writing about the surroundings in "The girl with the Dragon Tattoo".

The location of the apartement makes it perfect to explore Stockholm whether you are a couple or have kids. There's a lot to do for everyone.

The apartment is located on the 1.5 floor, in a calm but beautiful area, away from the clubs but within short walking distance and very close to good communication such as the newly built tram or the Subway that fast takes you around Stockholm (there are weekly passes to buy). There are lots of good and affordable restaurants and markets to buy groceries around the corner. You'll also find gyms, theatres, concert halls, shopping malls, pubs, clubs, cinemas, playgrounds etc nearby.
