About our home

Our house sits at the top of a typical Swedish West Coast island called Dyrön. You have both great sea and mountain views from the house.
The house was built in the early 1970s and renovated between 2013-2016.
There is central heating including under floor heating for winter visitors and a fire place for cozy evenings. The large decking area is perfect for long summer evenings and BBQs.
Very easy access to the island's walking trail, the shop and the public sauna. Around a 10 minutes walk to great summer swims in clear sea waters on either side of the island.

As the island is car free you will need to park your car and catch a ferry to the island on arrival. The ferry takes 10-20 minutes depending on route and the walk from the ferry to the house takes approximately 15 minutes. Once on the island there's no need leave for a few days, at least :) The local shop is amazing and has a fantastic selection of everyday groceries.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

A car free island with approximately 200 ppl living here all year, this at least triple but quite possibly quadruple in the summer!
The ferry to and from the island runs about once every hour until midnight - see Västtrafik's website for accurate time table.
There's a small supermarket open all year around, with almost everything you might need and a restaurant in the summer months.
The public sauna can be booked online and the walk trail leading to it has stunning views.

Bit of culture
Nordic Watercolour museum in Skärhamn and Pilane outdoor art exhibition.
Walks in the park
Mixed terrain walking trail - amazing views and fantastic nature (not suitable for push chairs)
Spot of exercise
The round-the-sland walk trail is stunning. Either walk or run.
Day tripping
To Åstol, Marstrand, Pilane outdoor art exhibition, Skärhamn etc
