Our house was built 1790 and is located in the medieval center of Kalmar, known today as the Old Town, right next to Kalmar Castle. It still has many well-preserved 17th- and 18th-century buildings and is an inviting cultural and historical quarter.
On the outside little has changed, on the inside the house has all the comforts of modern life. It is compact living at it´s best. Very fast Internet (100/100Mb) via fiber and WiFi avialable throughout the house.
Staying here is not for the shy ones, guided tours are being held just outside the bed room window and tourists by the thousands pass by, curious about the house and it´s habitants;).
We are not sure if our garden counts as one, maybe it is more of a patio seating area in the back of the house. Very private and secluded by an old stone wall. There is garden furniture for 5 people and a BBQ. In front of the house there is a small café seating, perfect for breakfast or for those who are up for a chat with the tourists passing by.
The beach and center of Kalmar with the harbor, shops and restaurants to fit everyone is less than 10 minutes walk away. If Kalmar is your main point of interest everything is very close by and no car is needed.
Great nature and sport activities is also reached within minutes.
Best time to visit is June to September when the city of Kalmar boils with activity and the weather usually offers lots of sunshine.
We have a dog and 3 persian cats. Pets are welcome of course.
For the summer of 2016 we are only interested in Manhattan, Los Angeles and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida since our son is graduating and we promised him a trip of his choice.. After that we will be open for anywhere in the world.
