About our home

Our home was originally built in 1936 and has undergone several renovations. However, it still maintains a lot of its original charm. On the top two levels there are 2 large bedrooms, a bathroom and 2 spare rooms that now are used for storage and tinkering. It sleeps up to 6 persons. The living room is vast (80 square meters) and offers a phantastic view over to the medieval city of Constance and the lake. The kitchen is state of the art. The dining room also has a great view of the lake. There's another restroom on this floor. The terraces and gardens are big, sunny and very private. In the basement there is another en suite bedroom and our office room. For the colder days there is a sauna. Of course there are a washing machine and a dryer.
For children there is a little wooden playhouse in the garden where you also find swings and a large trampoline.

More about us

  1. We are Gaby and Andrea Lucius a married couple with Luna Fay, our 11 year old daughter. Gaby is a speech therapist and Andrea Lucius a teacher at a junior college and a teacher training college. We are open for shorter holidays almost during the whole year. We'd like to spend our spring, autumn and Christmas holidays somewhere sunny and warm.
For the summer we are looking for a place on the Balearic Island, Croatia or in Mecklenburg Vorpommern.
In autumn we'd like to go to a Greek Island or Cyprus.
For Christmas 2017/2018 we are planning a stay in the Dominican Republic on Hispaniola, some other Island in the Caribbean or in Costa Rica. The Exchange could be non-simultaneous.

Where is it?

Kreuzlingen is devided from the famous medieval town of Constance only by the boarder between Switzerland and Germany. There is a lively pedestrian zone with good shops, cafés, restaurants and bars. In town you can find cinemas, museums and art galleries. Of course there is an ample offer of sports facilities. Our home is in a quiet spot overlooking the Constance bay and the so called Obersee, across the lake you can see Meersburg. You reach the centre of Constance in only 15 minutes either by bus or bike. There are good walks along the lake or up in the hills just when leaving the front door. Kreuzlingen/Constance is well connected with the rest of Switzerland and southern Germany. There is a train station within walking distance (10 Min.) or connected by bus. St. Gallen, Zürich, Freiburg and many skiing resorts are an easy daytrip. By ship or boat you can reach almost every town on the shore of the lake in summer.
